📢 📢 Net Zero Teesside and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) have awarded contracts 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 $𝟱 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 for the Teesside-based projects: the world’s first commercial scale gas-fired power stations with carbon capture and the CO2 transportation and storage infrastructure to serve East Coast Cluster carbon capture projects. 🔹Nine leading specialist contractors have been chosen across eight contract packages, including Technip Energies, Costain Group PLC, Wood, GE Vernova, Saipem, TechnipFMC, CORINTH PIPEWORKS, Genesis. 🔹 NZT Power aims to become one of the world's pioneering commercial-scale gas-fired power stations equipped with carbon capture technology. 🔹 Final contracts will be awarded after Final Investment Decision (FID), which is expected in September 2024. #epcprojects #carboncapture #naturalgas #powerstation

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) IAC Implementation Grant Program (https://bit.ly/3LWbAu1) has entered its second round, and applications are now being accepted! In the initial round, 41 projects received funding, with 6 of them incorporating onsite power technologies. Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturers (SMMs) are eligible to apply for grants of up to $300,000, with a 50% cost-sharing requirement. These grants are intended to facilitate the implementation of recommendations arising from IAC audits or CHP TAP preliminary assessments. The application deadline for this funding round is December 31, 2023, at 5 pm (Eastern Standard Time). It's important to note that the program will be operating on a rolling basis moving forward, with applications reviewed quarterly. The Biden administration announced $3.5 billion for 58 projects across the country to strengthen electric grid resilience as extreme weather events such as the deadly Maui and California wildfires continue to strain the nation’s aging transmission systems. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said it was the largest federal investment ever in grid infrastructure. Projects funded by the federal Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships program will increase the flexibility, efficiency, and reliability of electric power systems, with a particular focus on spurring solar, wind, and other renewable energy, Granholm said.
