Yet, 14,740 people, including 4,440 children, experience food insecurity in #MercerCounty. In the first 6 months of 2023, we already distributed 1.2 million pounds of food to our neighbors in need - a 67% increase. This #HungerActionMonth, join the movement to end hunger by #donating, #volunteering or #advocating. Every action-big or small-is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry. Since 1983, Lunch Break has continually served the food-insecurity needs of its under-employed community members, never missing a meal service even in the midst of natural disasters, government shutdowns and the COVID-19 pandemic. As current state statistics point to an increase in the need for food services, Lunch Break is ready to meet the demand, but we need your support to sustain daily operations. More than 650,000 people in New Jersey face hunger every day and approximately 175,000 of them are children. In Monmouth and Ocean counties alone, 1 in 10 people are food insecure and 1 in 5 of those are children. The good news is that the hunger crisis can be solved by working together. Through continued donations, our community kitchen has provided 12 percent more meals and our pantry has increased grocery distribution by 27 percent since January 2022. To help us sustain our vital programs: https://lnkd.in/eeZt6jsW Thank you for your support. #helpfortodayhopefortomorrow

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles provides food services consisting of bags of groceries, sack lunches, prepared meals, and food distribution to low-income, food-insecure individuals and families through their food pantries and food distribution sites at the community centers and shelters. Through their emergency shelter and bridge and crisis housing programs, homeless individuals are offered a safe haven and the tools needed to lead self-sufficient lives. By way of their homeless prevention programs, which typically include case management and financial assistance, at-risk individuals and families are able to regain stability in their current housing. And through counseling, education, job training and support, those who were once homeless prepare for independent futures. Thank you for all that you do, and we are so proud that you are a part of our #CDSCommunity!
