Announced last week, Reunite Families UK is going to court to fight a Conservative policy🧑⚖️ The policy ensures that international couples who don’t earn enough are kept apart until their wages rise - which was the subject of our ‘Cost of Loving’ campaign that launched earlier this year 💸 Made with BUILDHOLLYWOOD, we erected Valentine’s billboards featuring Rishi Sunak as Cupid that urged passers-by to check their ‘financial compatibility’ through our GOV Love Calculator 💕 The campaign was featured in over 185 articles and led to 45k+ signatures being added to the petition linked on our microsite that called for the earning bracket not to reach its maximum. Join us in supporting Reunite Families UK in their fight, for more info head to: https://lnkd.in/gGY3HpGq #CostofLoving #ReuniteFamilies #LoveKnowsNoBounds #TwistedLovesTory

We launched ‘Britain’s Youngest Protest’ on London’s Southbank with Health Equals. We teamed up with the amazing Emli Bendixen, travelling across the UK to photograph images of 50 babies in 50 homes to make a statement on health inequality. Every baby wore a onesie with their hometown, and their photo was transformed into a placard labelled with their life expectancy, as each took a stand against the 16-year gap in how long they’re expected to live. At 10 feet tall, and with each placard being A0, the 50 babies together create a protest that’s impossible to ignore. This is part of our wider Make Health Equal campaign, which is publicly lobbying the next government with the faces of the next generation. They’ve been born into a nation blighted by health inequality, so the massive gaps in life expectancy between them means they’re facing very different futures. This isn’t fair - and we demand the incoming government does something about it. That’s why this is just the first part of our campaign coming out ahead of the general election, so keep an eye out for what we do next! Last week our founder Joe Wade went to the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Convention 2024, where our Creative Partner Rick Dodds took to the stage with Sinem Bilen-Onabanjo and Claire Barber to chat all things ‘Stay in the Fight’, our integrated legacy campaign with Oxfam 💚 If you missed it and want to learn more, email us at [email protected].
What an incredible couple of days at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Convention 2024! The keynote speaker, Fatima Whitbread was truly inspirational, sharing her journey from care homes to Olympic glory. Her story is a powerful reminder that with determination, anything is possible. It was a pleasure to reconnect with her after our impromptu meeting at Spitalfields in 2012. The sessions were fantastic, and I enjoyed every moment, especially catching up with Oxfam colleagues Cordelia A. Saloni Jain Oliver Pancoust Affia wahab, Legacy friends Lucinda Frostick Emma Bockhop Naomi Collison Hanna Finlay Dylan Burke Claire Routley Kate Jenkinson Stephen Mooney Joe Nicholson Caroline Donald and fundraising leaders Daryl Upsall and Willeke van Rijn as well as making new acquaintances Emily Bracken Cam St-Omer Donaldson Mark Allwood Imogen Baker Othman Abigail Barton It was a privilege to represent Oxfam and present alongside Rick Dodds and Claire Barber the creation of our Stay in the Fight campaign and its alignment with Oxfam's brand values. Special thanks to Donna Young Jit Pundal and Sharon Comfort for running our session so smoothly, and to Joe Wade and my incredible team Corrine J. Rosie Blake for their support, and Abigail McMillan and Exfammers Hannah Wallis and Lindsay Draper for their kind feedback. A huge thank you to Richard Millar and the National Free Wills Network for sponsoring the Legacy and In Memory track. On my way back, the cameras were already set up on Parliament Square, hours ahead of the election results. Earlier, I wrote on the wall of wellbeing - more as a note to self - to break the day up and get fresh air by taking the dog for a walk. Once home, I headed back to the polling station 12 hours after casting my vote for the obligatory #dogsatpollingstations photo. What a week! Same time, same place next year?

As we approach the general election and a time of (cautiously) renewed optimism, we thought we’d take a look back at this Tory government in the most reverent form of retrospective: Top Trump playing cards. Introducing “Top Tories”, the only card game where the characters would bet on themselves. But who exactly were these Tories? What did they get up to? And why is this the end of the road for them, as long as we all bother to vote? Compare and contrast their stats, as you relive all the lies, debauchery and scandal that have been more rife than ever before among the greedy, corrupt, power-obsessed oddities that make up the Conservative Party. Remind yourself which Tory got caught looking at porn in the Chamber of Parliament and then said he was searching for tractors, or which Tory claimed the lines of coke he was pictured with were actually his dandruff. We were too environmentally conscious (and stingy) to actually print these cards out, but feel free to do so at home, and play our interactive game with your nearest and dearest. It’s fun for all the family! Except your weird posh uncle, but you need to stop inviting him round anyway.
