Why is the weekend always in such a rush?? I was just having brunch yesterday at one of my favorite places, blinked and now it’s over! Anyway, It’s the first Monday in August and it can feel overwhelming. Let me explain. I call July the “Hit or Miss” month. July is a HIT because of the holiday, vacations, late nights and later mornings in the summer. It’s also a MISS because on any given day, it always seems like a co-worker, manager, etc., is on PTO and missing. Emails pile up, calls forget to be returned and the like. So, as summer is coming to an unofficial close, school is starting and things are seemingly hectic, give yourself and your peers some grace when you are, as Corporate Erin would say, “Following Up, Circling Back and Closing the Loop”. *SN* - if you don’t know who Corporate Erin is, run to Tik Tok now!🤣.

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧! Workers commuting to work, kids going to school—all resurfacing from the rest of the weekend, ready to tackle the new week. Not that weekends mean anything to me in my work; I am always staring at screens, looking for my next big idea, or busy clicking away, generating content like some bot and trying to make it more valuable. 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔! But amid the hustle and bustle, this is just a quick reminder to show yourself some compassion in this new week—especially in this new week! You have come far, and here’s a big applause for all you have accomplished, some of it without the world knowing. So happy Monday, don’t forget today to: Set realistic goals Relax and have a cup of coffee (unless you are not a coffee person, then I think hot chocolate will do) Make a list of your tasks for the week and break them further down into small habits to incorporate into your day Don’t skip lunch! If it gets too overwhelming, take a nap. I’m sure your boss wouldn’t mind. 😉 #mondaymorning #mondays #mondaymorningmotivation #buildingonlinkedin #writingcommunity #writer

Reality check: No email, call, or text is worth sacrificing your weekend. Unless you're saving lives in the ER, it can wait until Monday. Your "urgent" and your company's "urgent" are 2 different things. Most times, they're dead wrong. →Log off. →Shut down. →Enjoy YOUR life. If you have to, delete that work email from your phone. Here's the thing: If you answer ONE time, they'll expect you to be their 24/7 hotline. I'm not saying you won't get pinged after hours-- your manager may work crazy hours. Good for them. But you? 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Recently, I worked with a CFO of a major Private Equity firm. He turns off his phone on weekends. And guess what happens when he turns it back on Monday morning? Nothing. Blew. Up. Shocking, right? Remember: You teach people how to treat you. If you don't want to be working on your off hours, then don't. No one should be expected to be working when they're off the clock. Period. 📌What's your tip for keeping weekends work-free? PPS: Ready to make more while doing less? Join my September cohort. It's that time of the week again. Yes, folks, it's Monday again. The most dreaded day of the week. The day when we half-heartedly and half-willingly return to our run-of-the-mill routines. And face the world anew and afresh, or so the legend goes. So, while away Mondays and maybe the rest of the week, here are some time-tested and proven Look-Busy-Do-Nothing (LBDN) techniques. So, here goes nothing. 🥁 Open social media apps on your laptop and chat away but with a poker face 🥁Always walk fast with a straight face in the office as if you are on a mission to do something urgent and the world depends on you 🥁Don't make eye contact with anyone. They should know you are too busy even to do that 🥁Always be on 'client calls,' which, in reality, should be your buddies 🥁Make faces, appear annoyed, and gesture while browsing the net for time pass. People should feel as if you are stuck in work somewhere 🥁Never extend a helping hand; remember you are deep down buried in your own work What LBDN techniques would you add to it? 😁 #Monday #office

Gut health nutritionist helping adults & children get to the root cause of symptoms & improve digestive health through 1:1 consultations, groups, workshops & online programmes
I have taken August off for as long as I have run my business. It started when my kids were school age and I took 13 weeks off a year to always be focused on them. In France, where my sister lives, most of the French pop to their holiday home in August; the village she lives in is virtually abandoned. Only one boulangerie stays open on rota, but the others shut. So 10 years ago when I started Nurturing Nutrition I decided to be more French. And I still do it now even though my kids are young adults, with only one at home for the summer holidays. My clients and social media followers know I do this, they are wonderfully supportive. Here's what works for me: 😎 Set clear boundaries* (for yourself & your clients) and make your OOO clear what people can expect 😎 Embrace the time away from your business, learn to love the JOMO. 😎 Realise that this is the month where the least FOMO will creep in as many are on holiday 😎 Schedule your socials until early September and write them so you don't need interaction, but they keep a presence for your followers 😎 Really think about how you want to spend your time, pick up hobbies, read books, visit places you've always wanted to see, people watch in pavement cafes. But also use this time to slow down and not have a busier schedule than if you were working. 😎 Connect socially with family, friends and those people who you enjoy spending time with. Spend time around those who lift you, not drain you. 😎 Get out in nature to calm your nervous system. Seek trees, water, views, sand, grass. Just learn to be at one with nature and don't feel you have to rush back to work. 😎 Get out of the habit of constantly checking your phone. My pet hate is people checking their phones (or worse leaving on the table) when we're lunching together. Make the person in front of you feel more important that your phone. It works wonders I promise. 😎 Turn off notifications, I only have a noise for if important people in my life call or text. Mute groups and choose when you check them. And certainly turn off news alerts. Fear sells/gets clicks and you can choose to not sign up to this. 😎 Learn to disconnect from what doesn't matter and connect to what does. 😎 Take fewer photos, be really present. This also means you use your phone less. 😎 Embrace that your creativity & resourcefulness will only increase during down time and you will be as fresh as a daisy with a sense of perspective come September. If you're an HSP like me, you will know that this time is crucial for your health. *I do schedule some client calls for August where their programme falls this way, but they are minimal and only take up a small part of my day. As a one woman business I check emails, but less often and absolutely not when I am actually away on holiday. Everything else business-wise can wait. My business, my terms. #HolidayMode #LinkedInNewsEurope #HSP

Wednesday is my favorite day of the week. For some, it represents the mid-week slump. And sure, some weeks, Wednesdays can be a drag. 😫 But most of the time? I see it as a new opportunity. Like Monday Part 2. In a good way. It's the day where I'm fully in a good work rhythm. I can look back at Monday and Tuesday and assess what's working and what's not then take that info to apply to how I approach Thursday and Friday. It can be a day where I go, "Yup, all is good. Let's keep doing this." Or, if workflow, communication, or something else is feeling off, I can reassess and tackle the rest of the week with renewed focus. It can be a redo. A fresh start. Without having to wait until the next week. This week, Wednesday is looking like a stead-as-she-goes sort of day. Monday and Tuesday were productive. I'm feeling right on track. I'll aim to keep it up with a few new article projects. 📈 What about you? What's your Wednesday looking like?

It’s one of those days. I didn’t wanna be here today. Yesterday was a super hectic day. I was super tired so instead of writing this post, I went to sleep. Shouldn’t have done that. Woke up, wrote shitty content, and posted just for the sake of it. I hated that post so didn’t even try and have a second look. But then again would I read it myself? No, I would have scrolled mindlessly. So I deleted it and decided to give this another shot. Sometimes consistency becomes too much. Since I do take a break on the weekends, guilt builds up if I even miss one weekday. So no, I wouldn't say it’s okay to take a break. Because if I skip it once, I am bound to do it again. Instead we can do this- → get better at time management, → remember to deliver value and not just content, → write loads of ideas during peak creativity hours, → and please do not procrastinate writing till the last minute. In case you are having a hard time like me today, just write about exactly that. It helps. P.S.: What do you do when you don’t want to write?

The term "weird" used to carry a stigma, implying something was wrong with you. But today, being "weird" often means there's something unique about you. And I’ve come to see that being called weird by those who follow trends, play it safe, and aim to blend in, is actually a compliment. Over the years, my family and friends have labeled me weird more times than I can count. But I’ve noticed a pattern: everything they consider weird about me is actually a strength. Waking up at 4 am to read, do breath work, and exercise? WEIRD. Not watching cable TV, Netflix, etc., but instead using that time to learn about things? WEIRD. Declining Sunday pool parties because I spend those hours planning my week to execute at a high level? WEIRD. Choosing to live well below my means, while driving my old paid off pickup? WEIRD. Prioritizing time with my family as soon as I’m off work, and giving them all my attention on the weekends (minus a few prep hours on Sundays) instead of hiring a babysitter? WEIRD. Having weekly accountability meetings with myself on Fridays to grade my performance? SUPER WEIRD. But here’s the truth: the "weirdness" about you is a strength. Lean into it. Today, weird means authentic, unique, and disciplined. So, don’t stop being your weird self! #Authenticity #SelfDiscipline
