Opportunity

Transitioning from over 20 years in the corporate world to becoming a traditional roofer has been an unexpected but fulfilling journey for me. While my co-founder had a background in roofing, I spent my career as a corporate and agency recruiter. The shift began when my co-founder invited me to join him for a ride along in the roofing business. Within two weeks, I found the experience exhilarating. The freedom from the office routine, the absence of constant supervision, and the realization that I was actively pursuing my happiness and goals were incredibly rewarding. Roofing wasn't an obvious choice for me. Overcoming my fear of heights was a hurdle, but my passion for helping people and my consultative approach to recruiting and sales were assets I could leverage. Despite attempting to transition into software sales, I faced repeated rejections, being told I lacked the necessary skills. Undeterred, I embraced the challenge of knocking on doors, facing rejection, and persisting until success. It's interesting how no one aspires to be a recruiter or wakes up with the desire to become a roofer. Yet, I've come to love the challenges each role presents. To those who doubted my capabilities in software sales, I'd invite them to try their hand at roofing. Every rejection has been a stepping stone, making me better and more resilient, ultimately leading to successful sales. In the end, my unconventional journey has taught me that sometimes the most fulfilling paths are the ones we never expected to take.
