Picture this: I'm scrolling through Amazon, not to indulge in my usual tech gadget spree (guilty as charged 😅), but to check on something far closer to my heart – our book, Tough To Talks #MANUP. Lo and behold, amidst the sea of customer feedback, one review shines brighter than my polished LinkedIn profile photo. The review was heartfelt, praising not just the written words but the sweat, tears, and countless hours poured into this project by every contributor, publisher, and yours truly. To say I was over the moon would be an understatement; I was beyond the stars! In a world where validation is often sought in likes and shares, seeing tangible appreciation for hard work feels like a warm hug. Yes, it’s a bit cheeky to share this personal victory lap on LinkedIn, but hey, we all crave a bit of validation now and then, don’t we? To all involved in making #MANUP a reality, this one's for us. 💝 ❓❓ WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING IT? ❓❓💝 We all love getting testimonials on work that we've done because it makes us feel good. Validated. Worthy. Significant. Nothing wrong with that, by the way - it's a human need that's being met and when done with the right intention and without needy emotional attachment, quite healthy. However, there is another human need we all have and that is to contribute to the greater good. Amazon has, out of the blue, placed my book on sale in all formats. If you've ever wondered if you could or should write a book … this is for anyone who dreams of turning a creative idea into commercial reality, especially anyone who wonders how to manage the intellectual and the business challenges of writing a book while working a “traditional” job. (I was a software salesman for 30 years). Despite their best efforts to convince us, a company is not your family and doesn't owe you emotional support. This person wouldn't be as crushed and questioning their self worth in quite the same way if they hadn't tied it so tightly to their company identity. I hope they realize they are more than a Performance Review and that that is only a process by which a company sheds human resources while protecting their liability. Genuine relationships require work beyond maintaining a company affiliation or LinkedIn connection. They will also support you when a company is no longer affiliated. We must all make an effort at building supportive relationships across and outside of the industry. Get out there and connect with people. Michael Scott Overholt, PhD tagged me in a post today, and it’s really got me thinking. 🤔🤓🧐 About the worth of Business Reviews. I value reviews VERY much. Especially when buying: mysterious impulses I’ve never researched I’m all over Amazon Reviews, whenever deciding between WAY too many options. The thing about every review… you can totally gauge their angle. Rarely to never are they useful. Usually they are the clarity of a bias being confirmed in detail by their writer. Reviewers, too often, allow their emotions to drive them. When it comes to the REALLY big decisions, the ones that matter most, don’t you speak with someone - personally? Don’t you reach out and investigate, with determination, and form your very own opinion? 👉 You test drive a car before buying. 👉You walk through a dwelling before living there. You should interview any consultant and game plan with your potential coaches. I will admit… When Google removed my listing, and all my 5 star reviews…I stopped caring quite a bit. Then… When I realized my BBB Reviews fade away after a year or two 😕 So showing up here, I swore I’d never care. I’m grateful for those I have. Don’t get me wrong. 🎶 Though, I mistakenly turned one down, suggesting we wait for more to celebrate… 👉 I know I am not a random decision with too many options… 👉I know my clients deliberately work with me - intentionally. Which begs the question… Honestly, I’m curious: Would you be more likely to work with me if I were adorned with more stars? 💫⭐️ 🌟⭐️✨

𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 2 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 During my college days, I'd planned to do business, but due to the family's financial situation, I went to the job. Since I worked 6 years the financial situation has not been stable. Instead of blaming the situation, I started my first business "Selling items on Amazon". I've Failed in that and I've lost 50k. After a year, my friend approached a business plan, So thought this time I had a good friend as a partner, and I thought we could succeed at this time. But again a lot of complexity we've failed and I've lost 70K This time. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝑰 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍? → Limited knowledge in Sales & Marketing →Lack of knowledge of Social Platform Marketing → Lack of awareness about current market trends → Lack of knowledge in understanding the customer's needs → Focusing on selling our product instead of addressing customer requirements. I've slowly worked on the skills to become a master in my current business.
