Completing my punching card track improvement. Lot of downtime happened during production where we need to polish and some time covering the track with tape in order to avoid scratches when card rubbing with track. By having this new track design, we manage to reduce the card surface contact to avoid scratches(only having contact at the card edge). Beside that, by implementing SMED concept, we also manage to reduce maintenance time as the track now replaceable and detachable from the main structure.

If you wanted to carry a bundle of pencils, would it be better to use a string or a rubber band? Of course, the answer is rubber band! But, why? That is because the force exerted by the rubber band presses on the pencils and the friction is high enough to keep everything together. The fact that the band is elastic allows the force to stay relatively consistent even if parts move around.
