Leadership transitions are pivotal moments. Singapore's recent handover of leadership from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Lawrence Wong exemplifies a successful 'Transition.' Leadership transition does take time as it involves thoughtful planning and considerations and often influenced by uncontrolable factors that comes to play. I am sharing 10 factors, that could impact senior leadership 'Transition' (as an acronym) 1. Timeliness/ Timing. Finding a suitable milestone that are of organisational or political significance to do the transition. 2. Readiness of the system to facilitate transition. 3. Alignment to future direction and growth. 4. Nurturing talent and ensuring that the incoming leader is ready to takeover. 5. Support mechanisms are in place for the process to proceed smoothly. 6. Inclusivity or to bring everyone along in this transition journey. 7. Team majurity to value team over an individual's view or perspectives. 8. Institutional understanding of what works and what doesn't. 9. Ongoing adaptation to manoeuvre skillfully through global and industry forces. 10. The Young Ambassadors of the Muslim-Jewish Leadership Council (#MJLC) had their graduation in Frankfurt 🇩🇪 over the last two days. Young Jewish and Muslim community leaders joined hands in Germany, Poland and the UK to strengthen their community ties. They were supported by mentors, an imam and a rabbi respectively, for practical and spiritual guidance in that process. 🔑 These Ambassadors are changemakers who counter existing stereotypes, whether within their faith tradition but in particular from society at large more widely. It surely must have been not always easy - but that's exactly the point why such endeavour is so important. 💡 One thing is clear: such initiatives won't solve the Middle East conflict, nor is there agreement. However, this MJLC gathering and the initiatives of the Ambassadors showcase that Jewish-Muslim solidarity in Europe is alive, even in these dark times. These young people are beacons of hope in the dark times that we are living in. This is #dialogue in action. ✡ ☪ There is, as ever, much to learn for next year and the second round of Ambassadors and how a sustained effort of the Young Ambassadors from this pilot will look like to further bring about positive change. 🏆 Many thanks go to Tim Mortimer for holding that space and to Ethan Susser for putting this together, it's tremendous work that you are doing! Healthy leadership of a board is essential to the strength of a community. Boards that don’t operate as a team increase the potential liabilities of a community association. To build a strong association two things must exist: First, board member must be educated on their roles and responsibilities. Second, associations must learn how to conduct effective board meetings.
