Does year-round sports training put young athletes at risk? The short answer is yes. Studies show the 'no days off' approach in high school sports can lead to acute and overuse injuries. Rest days should be a regular part of any level athlete's exercise routine, let alone kids whose bodies are growing and changing. Let's rethink how we train our young athletes to ensure they stay healthy and ready to seize opportunities without being sidelined by injuries. 🚑🏆 #YouthSports #AthleteHealth #SportSpecialization

US Army Veteran Sports Performance Coach/CEO Train INTELLIGENTLY Train INTENTIONALLY Train PURPOSELY Remember that it starts with our MINDSET, either #GETRIGHTORGETLEFT
In full swing of our In Season training. During this time of year, any of our athletes that are In Season, we're mainly working to improve recovery, continue to mitigate injuries best we can, sustain strength gained throughout the off-season, maintain mobility, stability, flexibility, and speed. However, even now, we can and will increase their speed. We usually see our field base sports athletes get faster almost every week. This is not a time we're trying to get strong. Their body goes through too much to accomplish that. In some areas or movements, we do see an increase in strength, but nothing is drastic. https://lnkd.in/gy3-fxzA #getrightorgetleft

Excited to share my first LinkedIn post! As a dedicated sports rehabilitation specialist, I’m passionate about helping athletes recover and return to peak performance. Rehabilitating a Grade 1 MCL and medial meniscus injury is crucial for footballers. Start with strength training targeting key muscle groups around the knee, then incorporate balance and agility exercises to rebuild stability and confidence. Gradual reintroduction to sport-specific movements ensures a safe and effective return to play. Consistency and patience are keys to preventing re-injury and achieving long-term success. Looking forward to connecting with fellow professionals! #SportsRehab #FootballRecovery #FirstPost

ACL-R Return to Sport 🏈 🥍 ⚽️ The Unfortunate Cycle 🔄 1️⃣ Athletes go through a grueling 9-12+ months of rehab 2️⃣ They reach “the end of rehab” 3️⃣ Pass all of their clinic testing 4️⃣ Progress through the return to performance continuum 5️⃣ Fully re-integrate back into team lifts, conditioning, practices and games 6️⃣ Re-tear (either involved or uninvolved side) Research primarily focuses on the journey from 1️⃣ through 4️⃣ Research is rather scarce at 5️⃣ The injury and rehab process forever impacts the athlete. We can shed a brighter light on testing, monitoring and performance adaptations even AFTER a full return to sport is achieved. There is no “end”. #ACL #SportsPT #AthleticTraining #SportScience #SportPerformance #AthleticMedicine
