Team building & organizational development. Helping companies cultivate a play ethic that enhances collaboration, team-work, creativity, & wellbeing. Play-based training & learning expert. Community engagement expert.

Thriving and innovative organizations operate more like an orchestra and less like a pipe organ. Here’s what I mean by that: Pipe organs are musical 'machines'. Each part serves a function. You have your pedals, pipes, keys, knobs, etc. These parts are mere mechanical cogs that serve specific duties. The player (leader) plays the music and the parts (staff) perform their functions, oblivious of the melody. This is the industrial model that has dominated organizations for more than two centuries. Today, effective leaders understand that for teams to be highly engaged with what they are doing, and have ownership over their work, they have to come together as musicians, not cogs. This is why it is key (pun intended) that organizations start designing their work cultures to be more like orchestras and less like pipe organs. Only then can leaders bring out the extraordinary in each team member and create a buzzing and vibrant workplace. At PL∴Y, we support leaders in developing key skills and attitudes to transform their work culture to foster innovation, collaboration, engagement, and wellbeing. #Leadership #Teamwork #Innovation #OrganizationalCulture #LeadershipDevelopment #WorkplaceTransformation
