The Ivanhoe Farmers' Market is an example of the work we must do in Kansas City - ensuring small, local food entities continue to thrive. One of the ways that happens is through awareness and knowledge. In looking at information about the market online, it's hard to tell whether they are still operating. Something important to know in marketing is that when there is uncertainty, people won't go out of their way to learn more. You have to make it super easy to find your brand. They operate from June to September from dated information (still live social media accounts haven't been updated in years). What we love about them is they are (were?) a testament to the power of community. This market is more than just a place to buy food; it's a space where social bonds strengthen, and a sense of community is nourished. You can buy various fresh, locally grown produce, but it also serves as a gathering point for people from all walks of life. You can meet the farmers and artisans who are the backbone of our local food system, learn about their practices, and hear their stories. This interaction builds trust and understanding, vital components of social capital. The market's dedication to inclusivity ensures that healthy, local food is accessible to everyone, reinforcing the community's ties. Each visit is an opportunity to contribute to the social fabric of Kansas City, fostering relationships and supporting the local economy. China like Bill Gates offered to buy more land for the small farmers they previously worked with, the obvious solution to Bidenflation of high food prices. It's simple supply & demand: to decrease high prices of goods, you must increase supply of lesser priced goods providers, which China was about to do. But Dems are so stupid, they are so easily duped by war profiteering dark tares that want WW3 with China more than the obvious solution to Bidenflation of high food prices. The excuse? They claimed China would use the extra farm land for small farmers as spying. It's like claiming China buying Smithfield to save 35,000 US workers their job only bought it because they're using US meat to spy on Americans! Yes, Dems really are this stupid nowadays! Farmers under pressure. The Amazon Prime series following Jeremy Clarkson's against-all-odds investment in, and commitment to, building and running a farm in under-subsidised, post-Brexit Britain is, Yes!, great entertainment - but also highlights the perilous financial plight of some of his farming neighbours. A pattern across the nation. With guts and unbelievably - in the circumstances - good humour, these professionals battle each day to just stay in a business on farms that have often been handed down through generations. Would an extra income of £30k+ a year make enough of a difference to be worth discussing? I'm looking for 80 sites across the UK. We proved a product over 10 years and in looking to roll it out, didn't consider its perfect fit to a family farm located in reasonable distance of a town. Minimal investment, no planning required, generating new traffic to existing on-site farm shops and amenities. Best of all it stops 30 tonnes each year, each site, of document waste going to landfill. At Impatience Earth, we've been working with innocent drinks for the last two years, and are really proud to see them re-launch their Farmer Innovation Fund. Through the fund, we're trying to show (and learn!) what it really looks like to run a farmer-led fund, to derisk an agricultural transition, to have trust in and collaborate with your suppliers, and that it is possible to be driven by carbon reduction aims, but do so more holistically and centred on justice. I'm biased, of course, but think it's a really exciting opportunity to experiment with how philanthropic capital can be used as risk capital within a business, and work towards a longer term vision of creating a model of how to source produce that is low in carbon, high in biodiversity, and supportive for farmer livelihoods.
