Custom Driver Apps | Enhanced Driver Experience | Custom Mobile Workflow Apps | Trucking Tech | Improved Driver Communication
Interesting insights from a recent Transport Topics email I received: 😁 "'Happy drivers, happy life.' That's the saying, right? Well, it should be! Most trucking fleets do a good job of recognizing their drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week every September. However, drivers also deserve to be recognized and appreciated for their hard work all year long. 😬 According to a 2020 survey from Commercial Carrier Journal, 53% of drivers felt that fleets 'don’t respect drivers and the job they do enough.' This should be a wake up call for fleet managers and business owners, especially when the industry is still plagued by a driver shortage. 🤝 Retaining good drivers is key to sustained operations. Making sure your drivers know you respect and appreciate their hard work will make them want to stay a part of your team. 🏆 Drivers who feel valued and appreciated are much more likely to stay at a company longer than those who do not. Rewarding your drivers encourages them to reward your company in turn - with their continued, excellent service." 📲 One powerful way to accomplish this is through building a driver app custom-tailored to your fleet's needs - providing them an efficient communication & workflow tool that is flexible enough to mirror their feedback. High self-employed driver turnover rates can be detrimental to the success and stability of any courier business 📉. Understanding the reasons behind this turnover is crucial for addressing the issue effectively. A *key* reason for a high driver turnover rate is inadequate driver perks... Offering incentives and perks can help you attract and retain skilled courier drivers 👥 . You don't need to spend excessive money on providing your drivers with perks to boost your retention levels. Wise offers a cost-effective solution to provide self-employed drivers with valuable perks that actually mean something. https://buff.ly/3KhIC6U #DriverRetention #DriverPerks #CourierBusiness #Wise #WithWise

Life on the road can be pretty unpredictable at times 🚚 Someone's driving schedule. Their sleep schedule. What food options are available to them. Wait times at a shipper and receiver. How often they make it home. The list goes on and on…. There are so many contextual data points throughout a driver’s daily life that don’t directly relate to their health, but definitely impact it… And what I’ve learned from the last 3 years of being in the trucks with these men and women, is that if you don’t address these contextual areas of a truck driver’s life (or if you just act like they don’t exist), your program or service is going to miss the mark. That’s why the answer to improving drivers’ health has to come from within the industry and someone building specifically around the daily life of a truck driver ❤️ #SupplyChainFitness

Is it just me or has the number of bad drivers skyrocketed? We experienced more than a few white knuckle moments on our drive home from vacation. 😬 Bad drivers who failed to signal intent making them hard to predict. Bad drivers who cut people off taking away the lane. Bad drivers who tailgated, bobbed and weaved so they could get wherever faster. Everything around a bad driver is sub-optimal. In many ways, bad drivers look like poorly performing teams. Contrast this to great teams. Great teams signal intent before they move so they bring others with them. Great teams share the lane so everyone can move optimally. Great teams prioritize team needs over individual needs. Great teams work to optimize the effectiveness of the entire system. How is your team using the road? #teamcoaching #teameffectiveness

🚛 As a dedicated member of the trucking community, I understand that driver retention isn't just about numbers; it's about building a family of skilled drivers who share our passion for the open road. In an industry where turnover can be high, my focus has always been on creating an environment that nurtures and supports our drivers. 💥From fostering a culture of respect and open communication to offering opportunities for growth and professional development, I believe that retaining drivers is a collaborative effort. Ultimately, driver retention isn't just a checkbox; it's a commitment to building a community of drivers who are not just numbers, but integral parts of our journey.🚚 #DriverRetention #TruckingCommunity #DrivingTogether
