It hasn't been easy Networking is a little bit hard for INTROVERTS (That's me) Not only INTROVERT, those that lack Self-confidence also ________________ I saw a post on IG that says For you to Network/Socialize with people You must put yourself in an uncomfortable situation Mind You, I didn't know that until I came to LinkedIn (Based on building networks and LinkedIn family) Note that ; Taking a bold step is very important 👌 I've also took that bold step when Isaac Abraham 🦃 (Check his profile) called me on WhatsApp Call You might be wondering what does that has to do with bold steps My reasons are ~I hate calls ~I hate using Voice notes ~Just texting For me to be able to answer that call (I take it as a bold step) And since then, I have the confidence to receive calls and use voice note with stranger/friends So my advice for everyone out there is to put yourself into that uncomfortable situation So you can be able to Socialize and grow your network I just started growing my network And I know with time I will share my results to y'all PS: How has Networking be for you? Have you ever ignored a connection request on LinkedIn? 🤔 Well, that's exactly what happened to me not too long ago. I received a connection request from a stranger and I was hesitant to accept it. I thought it was just another spam request, and didn't want to waste my time. As someone who gets over 50 connection requests daily, I had to be cautious. However, after almost 7 days, I read the personalized message from the requester, which was so thoughtfully written that I couldn't resist accepting the request. After accepting, I took the initiative to thank the person for connecting. 💬 We started chatting, and I found out that we shared similar interests in our fields. We discussed different topics, shared our experiences, and exchanged ideas. What started as a professional connection soon turned into a genuine friendship. 🤝 We found ourselves working together on a project that not only pushed our creative limits but also strengthened our bond. We spent countless hours brainstorming and coming up with new ideas. It was amazing to see how our connection had grown and evolved. This experience taught me that sometimes, the most meaningful connections come from unexpected places. Networking isn't just about finding people who can help you advance your career, but it's also about building genuine relationships. 🚀 Today, I'm not only grateful for the projects we've tackled together but also for the beautiful friendship that emerged from a simple click. There’s a feature that’s extremely underutilised - recording our name pronunciation on our profiles. You have 10 seconds for this recording, but here's a tip: → Go beyond just saying your name. Use this as a unique opportunity to share a brief insight into what you do and how you can add value. Imagine someone visiting your profile and with a simple click, they not only learn how to pronounce your name correctly but also get a quick snapshot of your professional expertise. When people hear your voice, it adds a personal touch to your profile. Your voice can exude trust, approachability or even your sense of humour.
