Maybe wisdom does come with age (and experience). I'm older (a lot older) than a university student. When I read the initial description (up to "if everyone finds theirs, everyone wins"), the initial algorithm that popped into my head was "get a balloon, find the owner, repeat until done".
Then I read the second description (and the results). I had to go back to see what the difference was - both descriptions registered the same way in my mind. Oh well...

A fundamental tenet emblematic of modern economics is that of 'self-interest'. We see this assumption undergirding all game theoretic analysis & applications, along with the conventional understanding of market principles & its actors (as homo economicus) that shapes our present human-world & how we orient our attitudes towards it. However, much like how Adam Smith has been famously only partially understood for his analogy of the 'butcher-brewer-baker' when elucidating the invisible hand of the market, this tenet of 'self-interest' is only a partial description of people's inclinations & behaviours. The other aspect of Smith's work, elucidated especially in his 'The Theory of Moral Sentiments', expounds beyond 'self-interests' & includes other-regarding interests, such as the ethical element of 'trust', without which even Smith acknowledges, the market would not function.
This meme effectively shows these two sides of our assumptions, & the attitudes we have been inculcated to first assume; self-interest as our starting point. But on a systemic scale (regarding climate change, geo-political-&-economical interests etc.) we are setting ourselves to eventually fail, perhaps not within our lifetimes (& this attests only to the smallness of our imaginative horizons if accounting by self-interests alone: while forsaking future generations etc.), yet quite certainly within humanity's prospects. Competition (where anything goes to win as king of the hill) is favoured above a healthier mode of 'contestation' (where rules are respected so that contesting players actually aid in the striving for excellence without eliminating one another). Most of all, the emphasis on self-interest & competition relegates the 'collaborative' spirit, also a part of us 'social creatures'.
What is vitally shown in this meme is that we should all learn to start 'collaboratively' rather than 'competitively'; with 'other-regarding interests' rather than 'self-interests'.
In economic terms, without relenting on the tenet of 'self-interest', such a phenomenon is instead termed 'enlightened self-interest' – where serving the interests of others ultimately serves one’s own self-interest.
But I shall venture further: if we are to begin with a collaborative spirit, we do not have to always start with a 'trade' or expectation of returns: we do not do this with our own toddlers or infants, as we intuitively know that for these instances, we begin not with the paucity of heart & miserly transaction, but rather from the generous spirit of overabundance for those slighter than us. We are big enough to share, even if we do not get a return.

Hopefully, with the advancements of behavioural economics, our assumptions will also begin to shift towards more acceptance of the collaborative spirit.
