Because of your help, I’ve been able to schedule 5 interviews this week!
Feeling so full of gratitude for y’all today. Since publishing my first #OpenToWork post, I’ve been overwhelmed with the love and support that our little family has received in response to our call for help.
If you missed the last post about where I am on the job hunt, I’m dropping it below:
Our family needs your help! In May, I left my People & Culture Manager role at B Lab U.S. & Canada to focus on my health. After taking a couple of months to recover and rest, I’ve been seeking full-time work while also doing part-time strategy & operations for my husband Jeff Wiggins’s graphic design studio Maridia.
At the end of this month, Jeff’s contract with a big client will end, meaning that our household income is about to become more variable than it’s ever been.
One job hunting challenge I’m facing at present is that we’re trying to stay in New York but most of my network is in Utah. If you know of anyone who is hiring in NYC or even has connections in NYC and is willing to chat with me, please let me know.
Because I’m a bit of a Swiss Army Knife, I have a wide range of skills and an eclectic career path encompassing public, tech startup, and non profit sectors (link to my personal website for convenience https://allisonlew.com/).
To paint a picture of how I might fit into an org, here are some types of orgs & roles I’ve interviewed with so far:
— University → Business School Accelerator Associate Director + Engineering School Incubator Manager
— Big Tech Company → Program + Community Manager
— Museum → Program Manager
— Tech Accelerator → Community Manager
— Economic Development Org → VP of Strategic Engagement
— Innovation Consultancy → Innovation Associate
My superpowers include:
— Brainstorming creative solutions to big problems
— Building teams, brands, strategic plans, programs, policies, projects, & communities from scratch
— Connecting people with people, resources, & ideas
— Identifying service gaps & needs
— Launching programs that empower women & girls
— Mentoring senior leaders, peers & young talent
— Writing copy for difficult communications
— Throwing a really great party ;D
I’d be so grateful if you'd be willing to share this post with your network and for anyone you’re willing to connect me with.
*I'm also open to roles that are remote, contract, and fractional.
