Notion is undeniably a powerful note-taking tool. However, as humans, we naturally gravitate towards simplicity and ease of use. When a tool becomes overly complicated and requires high maintenance, it risks driving users away. In our busy lives, simplicity is key, and there’s a growing trend toward simplifying our digital lives. In 2024, I noticed more people are seeking out simpler tools that streamline their tasks rather than complicating them.

I watched a five-and-a-half minute commercial this morning, and I was riveted. It was to the point that when it was over, I chuckled to myself and said “good job Apple” out loud to an empty room. Good news, there is an immediately applicable takeaway in my 5.5 minute investment in this fantastic marketing piece…story matters. I didn’t get sucked in because of the actors, nor the message (it took 3 seconds to figure out the point). I watched because I loved the way they built the narrative. It was kind of like watching the movie Titanic back in the day…spoiler, the ship sinks, but I still had to know what happened to Jack and Rose. More than anything, our prospects and clients remember stories, so today when you’re out there selling, try something different. Instead of talking features and benefits. Instead of regurgitating statistics. Tell a story about how what you’re selling has had an impact on another client. Phone screens can shatter when dropped, even from relatively short distances, due to a combination of factors: 1. **Material Composition:** Many smartphone screens are made of tempered glass, which is designed to be more durable than regular glass. However, it is still susceptible to impact. While tempered glass is more resistant to scratches and breakage than untreated glass, it can still crack or shatter upon a significant impact. 2. **Impact Angle:** The angle at which the phone hits the ground can influence the likelihood of screen damage. If the impact is concentrated on a specific area of the screen, it's more likely to result in cracks or shattering. The force of the impact is not evenly distributed across the screen, making certain areas more vulnerable. 3. **Drop Height:** Even a short fall can generate enough force to cause damage, especially if the phone lands on a hard surface like tile or concrete. The higher the drop, the more potential energy is transferred upon impact, increasing the risk of screen breakage. 4. **Protective Measures:** Some phones come with protective features, such as reinforced corners or impact-resistant materials. However, these features may not guarantee complete protection, and the effectiveness can vary between different phone models. 5. **Previous Damage:** If your phone has previously suffered from minor damage, such as small cracks or weakened areas on the screen, it becomes more susceptible to further damage upon impact. 6. **Manufacturing Variability:** There can be variability in the manufacturing process, even within the same model of a phone. Some screens may be more robust than others due to factors in the manufacturing process. To reduce the risk of screen damage, consider using a protective case and a screen protector. These accessories can absorb some of the impact and help prevent direct contact between the screen and surfaces. Additionally, being mindful of where you place your phone and using caution when handling it can minimize the chances of accidental drops and subsequent screen damage.
