Shoe us your love by joining the ROC Stop Seizures Shoe Drive Challenge. We are challenging you to go through your closets and storage and to ask your family, neighbors and friends for for gently worn, used or new shoes of any age, gender, and size. The shoes in turn will help ROC Stop Seizures to raise funds to further its mission to raise awareness for those with Epilepsy and Veterans with Battle Induced Seizure Disorders but will also help developing countries to create jobs and get shoes to those who are in need. Once you have collected 25 pairs of shoes, get in touch with ROC Stop Seizures so that we can arrange how to get the shoes from you and to give you some ROC Stop Seizures swag for completing the challenge. Our Meeting with In Sue's Name Today, we had the incredible honor of meeting David Alan Taylor, the inspiring founder of In Sue's Name - a charity that holds a special place in our hearts. This charity was established by David and his family in loving memory of Sue, a remarkable woman who tragically lost her battle with a brain tumour in 2011 at the young age of 42, leaving behind two beautiful children. But today, we're not just here to share Sue's story. We want to introduce you all to something amazing that we've been working on - ⁠Influential Stars✨ with experiences In partnership with ⁠Virgin Experience Days. Our project is set to launch at the end of October 2023, and we couldn't be more excited! 🚀 Our mission is simple: to raise awareness about brain tumours and fundraise for brain tumour charities. But that's not all - we are committed to supporting charities across the entire UK! 🇬🇧 Now, here's where we need your help! David has reached out to all of you, our incredible community, to see if anyone would be interested in volunteering for this project. We need passionate individuals who can lend their expertise in marketing, PR, project management, and so much more. 2022 Holiday Bourbon Exchange was a huge success.. until it got shut down. We are going to kick it off again this year and hope that LinkedIn let's it go. Last year, as a result of the 2022 Exchange we raised awareness for Veteran Suicide prevention through a newly formed 501C3 Non-Profit, and I know of at least 4 people who started new positions as a result of a connection through the exchange. Isn't that what LinkedIn is all about?!?! Nonprofit work is rooted in the “soft stuff” like heart, mission alignment, and compassion. Taking this role after a 15 year career in financial services, I thought I was already prepared for the “tough stuff” but I have never worked with a team so open to big change, focused on driving positive results for our stakeholders, and relentless about collaborating across the community to bring deep impact and support for those who need it most. Yes, it takes a big heart to bring your A+ game to this sector - but it requires grit, intellect, and determination, too. To attract and retain top talent, it demands investment. If you’re a donor or a board member of a nonprofit organization, consider endowing resources to fund the costliest roles in the agency you love. Similar to endowing a chair at a university, this creates operational flexibility and ensures that the organization can attract A+ talent no matter what’s going on in the market and environment around you.
