Today March 6th, we stand together for Spread The Word Day—a day dedicated to action for inclusion. 🌍✨ In a world where divisions can lead to exclusion and isolation, it's more important than ever to embrace acts of inclusion. Whether it’s in our schools, workplaces, or communities, we all have the power to make a difference. People with intellectual disabilities have faced marginalization for far too long. It’s time to change that narrative. By pledging to include, we commit to acts of kindness and acceptance, from sharing a meal with someone who's alone to inviting someone excluded to join in a game or conversation. For over a decade, the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign has fought against the demeaning impact of the R-word, with over 800,000 pledges to foster respect and inclusion. ⚠ Women and girls with disabilities represent 25.9% of the population of women in #Europe and around 60% of the overall population of 100 million persons with disabilities in Europe. They must be empowered to advocate for their rights effectively and address their societal needs. 👉 Last week, the European Disability Forum launched its manifesto for the #EUelections2024.
