New on On the Line: How to Run an LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Restaurant 🏳️🌈 1. Make it clear that your restaurant is a safe space. Whether it's including the queer community in your marketing initiatives, or hanging your Pride flag 365 days a year, the goal is to create an inclusive environment for patrons and employees. 2. Be gender neutral. Language matters! A simple greeting like 'How's everyone doing today?’ or ‘Can I get you folks anything else?’ is friendly, inclusive and goes a long way. 3. Set a positive work environment from the top down. Prioritize mental health, be open to differences in expression, and be proactive in hiring inclusively. 4. Provide LGBTQ+ awareness and ally training. Educational communities such as #FairKitchens seek to provide a more positive kitchen culture for all employees. 6.
