The team you'll work with We use machine learning and data analytics to analyze large volumes of data, uncover patterns, and make predictions that can be invaluable in the energy sector. Our team manages deep and valuable data around energy supply and demand that can lead to more efficient and sustainable energy systems. The Impact We have direct impact to help optimize energy distribution, predict demand fluctuations, and identify energy-saving opportunities. We build analytical tools that can process vast amounts of data collected from various sources within the energy grid. We work with cross functional teams around new product development including international expandsion. The problems you'll solve Implement data validation and cleaning processes to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies in the incoming data. Build advanced time series forecasting models at scale. Create relevant features that can improve forecasting accuracy, such as lag features, rolling statistics, and domain-specific variables. We are (like everyone else) recruiting an AI expert within the broad field of climate prediction. What I think we (the climate dynamics department at NORCE) have going for us is our stake in both Climate Futures and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. Through these partnerships we are working with a large network of businesses and public organisations. These are genuinely interested in using weather and climate forecasts in their operations. As a result, we have many interesting projects running in parallel. For instance, I'm involved in one where we're trying to predict the wind power potential during the next decades, linking this to energy demand.
