How to spread knowledge about biodiversity in the oceans

On Friday November 24th, I was a panelist at the KIT Royal Tropical Institute Power of Knowledge event on « Enacting climate action and response through meaningful partnerships » organised by the amazing Ingrid Zuleta Marin and moderated by the always inspiring Nicole Moran. With colleagues from Ghent University, Amref and Las Marías al Aire, we discussed the work that is being done and that still needs to happen across research, advocacy and non-profit work for meaningful climate action. Grassroots movements are key and we should listen to the voices that are being pushed aside by big players in the global world order as we work and fight for climate justice. 😊🌞 Since 2021 I have been interested in issues around environmental injustice and the energy transition. I did research in the Fosen region of Norway since they are operating the largest wind farms in all of Europe. This continued violation of human rights is a clear consequence of imposing blanket technocratic approaches to climate change - we need to move beyond strict quantitative measurement of the effects of climate change.
