๐ต Unlocking Regenerative Agricultureโs Momentum: Meeting Growing Demands Moderator: Vasanth Ganesan, Partner, MCKINSEY Speakers: Jess Newman, Senior Director of Ag & Sustainability, MCCAIN Jack Roswell, Co-Founder & CEO, PERENNIAL Mark Dann, Agricultural Accounts Executive, ESRI Lars Dyrud, CEO, EarthOptics How are agri-food corporations actively supporting farmers during their transition to regenerative methods? What steps are they taking to manage risks and provide financial tools or incentives, considering the time it takes to see tangible results? How can we translate CPG sustainability expectations into farmer-friendly, accessible programs? What are the key challenges faced in implementing these targets? What collaborative approaches are needed to deliver tangible results? Farmers require diverse, region-specific sustainability programs, like carbon offset initiatives and soil health projects. How can we expand and adapt sustainability programs to meet the needs of farmers in different agricultural regions? What tools and technologies are needed to quantify outcomes to soil health, water quality, biodiversity and emissions and allow food companies and asset owners to report on their GHG protocols? How can we bring the cost of sampling down?ย ย โ

In 2021, NatureScot, CivTech Scotland, and Informed Solutions joined forces to develop a worldโs first AI-based decision support platform that would help NatureScot, the public body that promotes and protects Scotlandโs natural heritage, improve the speed and consistency of planning applications related to the protection and sustainable development of land. Following months of rigorous user-centred design, research, and testing involving over 30 major planning organisations across England, Scotland, and Wales, InformedDECISION was developed and now, AI and advanced data science is helping NatureScot better manage sustainable development of land across Scotland. Fast forward a year: We are very proud to be associated with NatureScot's Digital Innovation - which has made the 2023 shortlist for The Scottish Government's #ScottishPlanningInnovationAwards Born in Scotland, a historic heart of global innovation, InformedDECISION now has the potential to help land managers all over the world protect and sustainably develop land. As an engagement consultant, I see a lot of comments from stakeholders about the potential environmental impact, both positive and negative, of proposed projects. It's interesting to see that AI could and is already managing the challenges of balancing planning needs and environmental impact. This is an exciting development, and I'm curious to see how this project develops. The use of AI in informing project development and planning decisions is likely to divide the public and stakeholders - some people will feel more comfortable with planning proposals because they know the environmental data has been carefully considered and analysed. But, given the recent rise of AI and general unfamiliarity, there will be many others who will challenge the use of AI in these processes or doubt AI's effectiveness in assessing an issue which can be emotive and complicated. For me, this raises the question as to whether we, as engagement professionals, should be sharing with stakeholders what decisions have been made with the aid of AI. Would it increase or decrease confidence and support in the planning and engagement process? And do engagement consultants understand AI well enough to handle queries regarding the use of this new technology in developing proposals? I know that I, for one, have a lot more to learn about AI and how it can aid humans in the decision making process. #aiadoption #communityengagement #stakeholderengagement #planningapplication

Great inspirational video that captures the essence of why CROPXR is such a unique program, adventure to secure the future of food in a rapidly changing environment. If you watch the reactions from the very different people on why they are excited, they all say the same thing: we're deeply engaged with the mission. The mission to create resilient crops. This shows the power of 'mission thinking' as a crucial tool to fix society faster. When a mission becomes concrete enough, it makes it much easier for everyone involved to focus activities: "will this help achieve our mission, how does it contribute"? It's also an invitation to the wider world: who feels attracted to this mission and would like to contribute? Finally, a concrete mission allows a path to be tracked and results to be constantly monitored: are the strategies we designed the right ones?
Yes, we did it! Recently, #CropXR kicked off, connecting all those who are part of this unique community. Letโs keep the positive energy going and continue our mission to contribute to #innovation in the agro-food industry by making crops more resilient, #sustainable and climate adaptive. ย #crops #resilience #futurefoodย #recapvideo Watch the recap video of the event:

Passionate Food & Ag Industry PR Professional, Trust-Building Trainer, Stakeholder Engagement Expert
"No comment." was a bad strategy from the beginning. And in todayโs environment, itโs perceived as an admission of sorts, at best. As various food system stakeholders - customers, investors, regulators, NGOs, the public, and others - call for more information, access, and transparency, โNo comment,โ is entirely insufficient. The Center for Food Integrity research shows that transparency is vital for building trust โ without it, trust wonโt be possible. But when stakeholders say they want "transparency," what do they mean? In less than a month, join me at the Animal Agriculture Allianceโs 2024 Stakeholders Summit, where Iโll: -Define the 7 principles helping those involved in the food system benchmark and enhance transparency -Highlight case studies from companies that have completed CFIโs Transparency Index -Provide a framework that equips attendees to respond with confidence on animal agriculture and broader food system topics -Empower attendees to align company values and actions with stakeholder expectations ย There, Iโll join an incredible lineup of industry experts covering topics from emerging technologies and innovations, supply chain partnerships from gate to plate, consumer research, climate insights from COP28, animal health advancements, employee engagement, and so much more! ย ย I hope youโll join us at #AAA24 โ Register for the Animal Agriculture Alliance Summit at https://shorturl.at/qsAN7 Hannah Thompson-Weeman Logan D.
