The South Gloucestershire Business Show 2023 Wednesday 08 & Thursday 09 November 2023 UWE Enterprise 1 – BS34 8RB We know that mental health is one of the significant challenges facing businesses and staff teams. Culture and the arts can really help. UK workplace absences soar to highest level in decade, report finds (Chartered Institute for Professional Development (CIPD) and Simplyhealth). In total 918 organisations, representing 6.5 million employees, were surveyed. Stress is now a major contributor to short and long-term absences, the report suggests, with 76% of respondents saying they took time off work in the past year for that reason. The top cause of long-term absences is mental ill health at 63%. Interaction between business eco-systems and our living culture is an important discussion. Music, drama, the creative & performing Arts all offer invaluable breadth & depth to our lives and importantly for businesses to foster a broader outlook on life and in turn become a significant support to mental health. “Doing things differently” is always at the heart of business, innovating new products and services, understanding disruptive innovation. It’s also a great way to challenge “same old” thinking at a personal level and find inspiring ways to build better environments and better mental health. Looking forward to being part of the panel for #SensoryDesign at IMEX. Join us for an engaging panel discussion where we'll explore the art of fostering inclusive environments in bustling workplaces and events. Let's come together to learn and share insights on creating spaces where everyone feels valued and welcomed. Here is a sneak-peak into the panel: "The way we use space is changing, and our events and workspaces need to be more flexible and less overwhelming. Understanding the importance of and potential for small changes and experience zones to provide flexibility and seeing the return on productivity is rewarding. Meet the people redesigning new normal spaces that nurture the people you bring to work and your events, and see how we are championing the needs of the #neurodivergent workforce. We can make a difference.“ #neurodiversity #MICE #event #inclusion #sensitive #ADHD #healthyproductivity #mentalhealth
I'm speaking at IMEX Frankfurt 2024. LET'S GO!
