For those still serving on Active Duty, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of continuous learning and certification. The DoD Credentialling Opportunities Online (COOL) program offers a pathway for both service members and DoD civilians to advance their skills within their profession. For our military personnel, tailored funding supports this journey: Army and Navy COOL programs provide $4,000 annually, the Air Force offers a $4,500 lifetime cap, and the Marines and Coast Guard each offer $4,000 annually, facilitating a culture of continuous improvement and readiness. Expanding this, the DoD Civilian COOL program bridges the gap for civilian personnel, offering resources to gain certifications vital for fulfilling critical roles within the Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) and enhancing our collective defense capabilities. This initiative not only underscores the commitment to professional development but also strengthens our national security posture by ensuring that our civilian workforce is equally equipped to meet evolving cyber threats. These programs underscore a strategic investment in our defense infrastructure—arming both uniformed and civilian members of the DoD community with the knowledge and certifications necessary to navigate the complexities of modern warfare and cybersecurity. Embracing these opportunities, we can enhance one's career trajectories and make a tangible contribution to our nation's security. Leverage these resources for you and your troops professional growth and to help fortify our national defense. #DoDCOOL #CyberDefense https://www.cool.osd.mil/

Every day at ECS, we see firsthand the unique combination of skills, knowledge, and discipline that U.S. military veterans bring to their civilian careers. But what does it take for veterans to successfully transition to post-military roles? 1️⃣ TIMING IS EVERYTHING Proper timing is crucial for a smooth transition from active-duty service to civilian work. By leveraging terminal and transitional leaves, service members can align their job search with their separation dates, allowing a seamless transition. 2️⃣ NETWORKING SETS THE STAGE FOR SUCCESS Networking is key for breaking into the civilian workforce. Veterans are encouraged to establish a strong presence on professional networks like LinkedIn, connect with fellow veterans, and form mentorships with industry professionals. 3️⃣ PREPARE FOR THE CULTURE SHIFT Cultural shifts can be challenging but are manageable with the right preparation. Veterans are encouraged to use professional resume writing services to effectively translate their skills and knowledge for the corporate world. Meet Harry, a 26-year-old Army veteran turned cybersecurity professional. In service, he flew military drones for tactical artillery intelligence. He is now a valuable asset for a federal agency working in DXC’s security practice. Veterans like Harry struggle to adjust to civilian life. Corporate programs, like DXC’s Veterans Program, can alter that. They acknowledge veterans' unique talents and offer crucial support functions, education, and employment opportunities. Veterans are ideal cybersecurity professionals who are quick learners, mission-focused, and have security clearances, and due to rising demand, they are in high demand. #Veterans #Militarytransition #Cybersecurity #DXCveterans

What a whirlwind week in San Diego for #WEST24. Lots of great conversations. Lots of laughs. Lots to follow up on. The #Navy mission never ceases to amaze me. Maintaining operational superiority and tactical advantage across the vastness that is the ocean requires the collective efforts of all. Kudos to all the companies, leaders, public servants for waking up every day to work the problem, execute the mission and ensure our Sailors and Marines are equipped, prepared, and safe. Some “dumb marketing guy” takeaways: 1. We remain in a recruiting crisis for the US Military, but did you know that there are opportunities to continue to serve the mission with Naval Reserve Officer opportunities for key skill sets - Public Affairs, Electical Enginnering, Cyber, etc. Contact my new friend Erica Young to learn more. 2. CJADC2 and #MPE network collapsing and integration is happening, but damn it’s hard. I know my fellow marketers are all scrambling to update their materials since they changed the acronym from #JADC2 > #CJADC2 but bringing our global mission partners into the fold to face today’s geopolitical challenges is crucial. 3. It’s ALL about user experience #UX if you’re not designing, monitoring, listening and adapting to end users’ needs…we’re not doing our part. Industry must show up with new ideas, solutions and work with partners like DON PEO Digital to drive these initiatives forward. Onward. Faster. Together. Keep leaning in!
