🇹🇼 News from around the world In the latest edition of Global Perspectives, HAE Taiwan tells us that one of the biggest highlights in Taiwan in 2023 was the boost in the number of HAE-knowledgeable doctors and healthcare professionals. This happened because of training workshops organized and conducted by Dr. Shyur and colleagues. Hundreds of healthcare professionals attended the series of training workshops, and were able to list their services on HAE Taiwan Facebook to allow patients to find HAE-knowledgeable doctors who are near them. This has made it more convenient for HAE patients and greatly improved access to HAE knowledgeable doctors, regardless of which part of Taiwan the patients’ homes are. Private hospitals (for profit and not for profit) are doing it particularly tough (despite the many positive long term trends), so strategy and particularly ability to execute become even more important. Part of the challenge is to be able to communicate it (strategy) in a simple fashion (improves the probability of it being understood, supported and therefore executed). As a Critical Access Hospital, we are required to complete an annual review to be compliant with federal regulations and conditions of participation. More importantly, as a local hospital, it's important to us that we are transparent with our community and share information about our successes and opportunities for improvement.
