Did you know that Jolos offers internships? 🙈 Since 2023, Jolos has created a different kind of internship program that benefits everyone. Four interns have the opportunity for 3 months to gain a unique insight into the life of a creative agency and acquire real hands-on experience in event marketing. What makes Jolos internship different from others? 🤔 "We strongly believe that it's important to combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge, understanding why we do things a certain way,” says the program leader and project manager Taavi Tõnnison Jolos internship program takes the interns in three different directions: - Production - which focuses on bringing together the concept of the event with all of its components - Creative - which focuses on the creation of the concept of the event - Brand Team - which focuses mostly on all of the graphic and design parts of the event After the initial division of directions, we map out the necessary basic knowledge, which includes five theory lectures with homework to see how well interns understand the topic at hand. The internship ends with a final exam, where interns are tested and must show what they have learned and how they would organise an event themselves. 🎓 To pass the exam successfully, a comprehensive creative solution, a budget, CVI, and production materials (technical schedule, program, list of partners, team mapping) must be created and presented to the Jolos team. Great opportunity to #intern with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) #communications team at a crucial time for public service media in #europe. Public service media (PSM) is broadcasting made, financed and controlled by the public, for the public. The EBU represents PSMs (including RTE) in 56 countries. Collectively they reach over 1 billion people, broadcasting in more than 160 languages. Is PSM perfect? Nope ... but it's the best model we have, and when it's well-funded (and well run) it correlates with higher degrees of press freedom, lower levels of extremism and better control of corruption. It's worth protecting, particularly right now when AI technology (in the wrong hands) is fanning the flames of disinformation. Paid internship.....who kya hoti hai? Do not accept unpaid internships! Last weekend at an open house, I had a chat with a young man. He had just finished an unpaid internship at a startup company in KL. I told him he was crazy! Yes, I know, young spirits are still enthusiastic about gaining work experience, but living in KL isn't cheap! Even though he completed his internship, his struggle was insane! He had to borrow money from friends to pay rent and for transportation to and from work. And the saddest part is, he could only afford to eat roti canai to fill his stomach. He doesn't come from a well-off family, and his family lives outside KL. Hopefully, with this internship experience, one day he'll become successful, and I hope I can work with him in the future. Also, I hope, there won't be any more students agreeing to unpaid internships after this. This practice should be abolished. There's no point in exploiting the energy of students and making them suffer. Everyone deserves to be paid for their work. Agree??
