Are you a product investor? Or are you a metrics investor? There's a big distinction here and it starts with the very first question you ask... My guest Sunil Nagaraj helpfully points out that there are investors who care "What does this company do?" (For me I'd add "...and for whom?" because cool tech without a defined customer or audience just isn't interesting) But a lot of our fellow VCs care more about "How are they doing?" which for funds like Sunil's Ubiquity Ventures and my fund VSC Ventures is the least interesting question to start with.
