Once again, we are letting ignorance & neglect crash our #healthsystems Many countries not still measuring #COVID19 #hospitalizations (why?) But those who are measuring are showing big spikes As former Director, Service Delivery & Safety for World Health Organization all colleagues I speak w in #ICU, #ER, or #Hospitals are again feeling Overworked Overwhelmed Forgotten Please -#wearamask in crowded poorly ventilated space -Keep following Covid news -Get your #CovidVaccine - and for this please check out HIPRA HIPRA is a partner w ApiJect Systems & has ONLY Covid vaccine that is fully approved by World Health Organization -It has better safety profile (fewer side effects -It has better durability -It is protein subunit (for those reluctant about #mRNA) -It does not need super cold temperatures (for all my health systems managers out there struggling w managing cold chain)!

Concur that we need to heed more attention to COVID-19, be up to date and very excited to hear Apiject partnering with HIPRA as I understand they have a huge manufacturing capability. However, if the chart presented here is presenting total reported hospitalizations per country rather than adjusted per million adjusting for country population size, than the U.S. is doing WAY better than Canada despite the spike. Also, I wouldn’t expect Australia to be spiking since they are in their Summer months. But please correct my quick math of approx 87 US hospitalizations per 1M given a 333M total population and 125 Canadian hospitalizations per 1M given their 40M total population. Even Australia has a 115 hospitalized rate per 1M of their 26M population. Shouldn’t we show a chart adjusted for population size? If our point is to emphasize a spike, true we just hit Winter in North America, but we’re still doing a heck of a lot better per 1M than even a country enjoying their Summer. If I am off, I am open to clarification on this chart.
