🔮 When I think about the exit market in 2024, it’s unlikely the IPO window will open this year. I expect we will see more IPOs in 2025. Let's start a new week with DealStreetAsia's latest scoop on startup fundraising 💰: Digital bank and credit payment startup Finture has raised nearly $30 million in a Series B round to ramp up forays into new markets including #HongKong, #Vietnam, and the #Philippines in the next few years. Asia-focused MindWorks Capital, Finture's existing investor, led this pure-equity Series B financing. Participating investors include Beijing-based XVC, SWC Global, Richen Pioneer, and Antao Capital. #Singapore-based Finture, the operator of credit payment platform #YUP, secured the new financing five months after it began #fundraising in early March. Its #valuation doubled from about 12 months ago when the startup raised an XVC-led, $20-million Series Pre-B round. Dong Zhang and Tong (Gavin) Guo kindly shared with me details about Finture's fundraising success, new market plans, and their vision for the business, including a future #IPO. Among other reasons, a key reason for the below trajectories is the relative development of a domestic venture capital ecosystem which is relatively immune to global waves. Another reason why 🇮🇳 needs to keep building our bedrock of domestic venture capital to support startups -- financial institutions, family offices, HNIs.
