I #love this #charity that is helping families with multiple therapies such as #art and #music #therapy, #grief #counseling, whatever a family unit needs if they have a #child with #Cancer for a #Lifetime , and it is only $1,500 to help a #Family, your fellow #Genus and #species to #cope and to #improve #lives of #children at #war with #Cancer. 🥊 One year ago, I stepped into the boxing ring not just for a personal challenge, but to fight for something greater - a cause close to my heart. 💙 I took on the challenge to raise funds for Duchenne UK, a cause that aims to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. 👊 Duchenne is a relentless genetic disorder that affects young boys, robbing them of their strength and mobility. The fight against it is tough, but the resilience of those facing this battle is even tougher. 💪 That's why I chose to put myself out there, lace up the gloves, and take on the ring - to show that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and your cause. 🙌 Thanks to the incredible support of friends, family, and the community, we were able to make a meaningful contribution to Duchenne UK. 🌟 It's a reminder that every small effort counts and that together, we can make a difference. ✨ This journey taught me that when you have a purpose, no challenge is too great. 116km ran in 72 hours - 6.5km every 4 hours for 72 hours - 18 runs in total €6,757 raised for Irish Cancer Society Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that donated to the ultimate running challenge. Cancer affects thousands of families in Ireland including my own and I understand how difficult it can be for families. I got a lot of messages from people acknowledging what I was doing & that it was very close to their hearts too. It was fantastic to get these messages from people and it pushed me to keep going! Secondly, I want to say a big shout out to everyone that joined me on the runs, the support was fantastic. 15 of the 18 runs I had people running with me which just shows how much support there was and I’m very grateful for it! Lastly, I set out this crazy challenge not knowing what to expect really, finished it and still felt I had more to give. It made me realised exactly how far I can push myself and what my body is capable of. I find myself coming across people every day who have completed challenges that seem impossible. People continue to amaze me and it pushes me to challenge myself even more and see what we can do because believe me, you are capable of doing so much more than you know! What I’m trying to say, challenge yours by as much as possible! Get out of your comfort zone and do something that might seem impossible or makes you feel uncomfortable! We strive and become better when we challenge ourselves to do something hard and uncomfortable. You will suffer and it won’t be easy but let me tell you it’s very rewarding when you’ve done it! It could be running your first 5km, first marathon, joining a sports club, or learning a new skill. It might not go to plan the first time, but just remember everybody fails in life even the most successful people. The main thing is to never stop trying. Don’t give up, stay strong, believe in yourself and try again! Really interesting thoughts from Betsmart Consulting earlier on around the ASA's rules stating that no sports personalities under the age of 25 should be used to promote a gambling brand. I think from a protecting the young and the vulnerable perspective, it's entirely appropriate. Ultimately, there's been enough headlines around Littler's progress and performance over the last few weeks that he's unarguably become a household name. Every time such a young person comes to the fore in any sport, we see a surge in children and younger people being interested in the sport (not necessarily betting on it, mind you) and with that comes the risk that this rule is designed to mitigate: young people crossing the line from being interested in the sports personality into becoming influenced by their marketing partnerships into betting and gaming. I'm interested to hear others' thoughts on this.

Critical Project Lesson No. 25 – Project Kick Off After Delay for Re-scoping / Re-Schedule / Re-Costing Purposes Sometimes it's deemed essential to place a moratorium on a project till more is know about the scope / schedule / quality exceptions / costs etc. Once all the unknowns are clarified it is time to re-start the project armed with a greater level of confidence that what is to be done is achievable and that the benefits sought can be released. This of course a create a greater level of scope but also greater understanding of how the project can be delivered successfully. So, after many months in abeyance, it's time to go again in my efforts to raise some money for charity, but putting myself through the mill. I couldn't complete the Kilimanjaro / Boxing double that I had planned for 2023 due to too many other commitments. The delay means that there is now. "extra scope," to be completed in 2024, but this extra scope should also hopefully release extra benefits in terms of additional funds for the chosen cancer charity. The rumours are true. I will be doing some exercise in 2024. Pedalling 24 miles, climbing Snowdon and then kyaking Llyn Padarn. Will I make it? Who knows... One thing I do know is that it is all for a brilliant cause Muscular Dystrophy UK. We use our muscles to move, walk, eat, sleep, smile and cry. To pump blood around our bodies. To breathe in and out. For my friends, colleagues and other people I have met who live with a muscle wasting condition the gradual loss in ability to do the things that most people take for granted can be exhausting, stressful and lonely.
