Elecseed and our Korean Government Partners KOMIPO were in Canberra today to discuss our Renewable Hydrogen Masterplan. A visit to the Australian National Korea War Memorial followed to pay our respects to the Australian men and women who fought alongside Korea in the 1950-1953 War. Today, Korea and Australia stand together to decarbonise our nations, uniting our shared ambition for a better future. This commitment will be challenging to realise, but like before, one we must pursue for the continual wellbeing of mankind. Lest we forget. #miracle #dreamscometrue #decarbonisation

Energy (In)Security in Central Europe Amid 2 year anniversary of Russia's war against Ukraine, the question of energy security in Central Europe is at the agenda of European politicians. Talking to European companies about the structure of their supply chains I came to learn about challenges of soaring prices and limited energy availability. Even Germany has faced negative electricity trade balance for the first time. Energy is no longer used as a commodity but a tool to exercise pressure, impact the level of security or expose dependencies. With almost 56% of energy in the EU being imported, it is vital the EU diversifies away from (Russian) oil and gas as it may lead to loss of competitiveness in energy intensive industries. To do so, it is crucial to find new reliable partners instead of putting all the eggs in one basket. Since national markets in the EU have different energy sources and support renewables in different ways, it is important the member states work together to mitigate the grid challenges in scaling of renewable energy. In contrast to EU, faced with higher prices, China has moved in a direction of coal which enables them to drive the cost down (at the cost of environment). But lets also mention they are partially using it to produce solar panels sold to the EU. This time, you can hear what is the take of Senior Advisor Energy at Baker McKenzie, Czech Deputy Minister of Energy and Nuclear Resources, Policy Advisor Energy and Resources at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment and Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Austria on the security of energy moving forward. My highlights? 👉Diversification doesn't mean moving to another single source of energy but rather strategic alignment of renewable, nuclear, hydrogen and traditional energy sources. 👉We often dont understand long-term effects as well as we do immediate effects of energy management on energy prices and supply reliability. 👉Strategies for diversifying energy sources to enhance resilience against geopolitical shocks. 👉Accelerated shift towards renewable energy and the EU's capability to facilitate it. Don't take my word for it, but have a look yourself. #energysecurity #EU #renewablenergy #geopolitics #commodities

In February 2022, Russia's military action sparked a significant economic crisis in Europe. European households have seen energy prices rocket, and politicians have been trying to address the issue. The Kremlin's decision to halt energy supply to Europe in response to sanctions has exposed Europe's energy dependency on Russia. What are the dangers of energy dependency? How can Europe bounce back? Can renewable energies offer a more secure and sustainable alternative? The Energy Domino: The Effects of the Russia-Ukraine War on Georgia's Energy Landscape by Salome Janelidze https://lnkd.in/e9HbCMUY The Russian invasion of Ukraine has significantly shifted the geopolitical landscape and sent shockwaves through various sectors of the economy and supply chains around the world. The conflict caused a ripple effect, and its far-reaching implications reverberated throughout the global stage. As a result of Europe’s overdependence on low-priced Russian natural gas, the energy sector has been among the hardest-hit parts of the economy. Due to its location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia has historically been pivotal in regional energy dynamics by acting as a transit ...

One year later than originally planned, French president Emmanuel Macron paid a three-day state visit to Germany that allowed him to reinforce calls for closer European cooperation in the week before the EU elections. Both Macron and German chancellor Olaf Scholz face assertive far-right parties that look set to go strong in the European vote, meaning the two embattled leaders must find a convincing joint vision for the next European Commission to salvage key policy achievements like the Green Deal. Unlike in the year before, energy policy has taken a backseat in government talks this time – but industry representatives say a common stance regarding the transition to climate neutrality will be vital for achieving their shared aim of a European industrial revival. https://lnkd.in/dasWEEG2

Advocate for a globally competitive #AUSTRALIANFUSIONENERGYINDUSTRY with strategic communications expertise.
Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR It is interesting to note that another media story is gaining attention by announcing the extension of a fission plant, which implies that few green builds have started or are planned. My view is they are hedging. Just to let you know. Another option is fusion. Perhaps they believe it's better to be patient than to be wasteful. Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. Commercial fusion electrical energy generation is a promising and innovative method of producing sustainable and clean energy. By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY If you want nuclear energy, opt for the cleaner and safer option of FUSION. Now see what news is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a Renewables, grid-attached variable hydrogen power generation, and batteries, in collaboration with Fusion, offer mining, and farming world energy and food security, sovereign security, and the development of more jobs, careers, and new industries and new technology. As fission trebles, fission fuel shortage in 100 or 80 years is increasingly real, as stated in recent UN documents and linked below. https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr Fission is losing the energy battle trying to compete against the renewables, grid-attached variable hydrogen power generation with batteries and now fusion for a total power generation system solution for the 198 countries of the world not just fissions-limited 39 rich countries. Without weaponisation, pollution of waterways and radiated toxic waste. Which Nuclear fission or fusion?

This report (link below) is for those in the offshore wind industry active in Scotland who still don't understand (or prefer not to see, for commercial reasons) why it matters very much to pay attention to geopolitics, particularly when it comes to considerations in relation to the offshore wind supply chain in the UK. As the authors point out, while the EU still officially regards China as “a partner for cooperation, an economic competitor, and a systemic rival”, it is time - thanks to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and how China has responded to this - to add another category, one that labels China also as a security threat to Europe. "Europe needs to present Beijing with a starker choice: either it continues helping Russia and faces consequences, or it begins curbing support for Russia’s war efforts and continues to enjoy close trade links with its key economic partners." The report should also be read by those in the business community in Scotland who took fright at news that The City of Edinburgh Council had planned to forge a "friendship agreement" with the Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung. #geopolitics #offshorewind #Scotland #China https://lnkd.in/euECUrew
