"The ownership cycle of an EV is really fantastic and it does cost less money." 🤩 At #IndustryDay 2024, Steve Kosowski, Tyson Jominy, Mark Dipko and Terry Kidd discuss EV adoption in middle america! One of the most significant challenges lies in getting people in Middle America to embrace electric vehicles even though most people fit the bill on paper of being an EV owner - they own homes, have multiple cars, etc. So, how do we get them to make the switch, and what is standing in their way? 🧐 Access the full panel discussion via the link below! 🙌 https://lnkd.in/eXPw5d5v #ElectrifyNews #EV #ElectricVehicle #ElectrifyExpo #IndustryDay2024

Things standing in the way is Influence. Influence by: 1. Opinions of people who “are experts” yet have never: driven, owned, worked on, sold, or acombaniation of the latter, an EV. 2. Political mandates to transition - Never a good thing; creates a negative view point to support. 3. OEMs not supporting dealers to make a realistic transition with tools and resources needed to do so. Again creates a negative view to support. (Which heavily includes not training their dealers) Both 2 and 3 are then again passed on to the customer. There are a few more reasons. But that’s it in a nutshell. When there is no “personal opinions/ feelings” involved in showing a customer their options, showing them how it could work for them, and ultimately letting the customer make their own decision, it works.
