🌈 This past Pride Month, we honored the courage, tenacity, and beautiful spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities worldwide, at EA and in our games. It was a month filled with events, programs, and initiatives that saw us celebrate, acknowledge, and reflect on the issues challenging the rights and freedoms of many members of this community around the globe. Hear directly from Amanda Hawthorne, Laura Hellinger, and Benjamin H., members of EA PRIDE, our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, who share their perspectives on what Pride means to them, memorable experiences, and what creating a culture of inclusivity means not just in June but every day of the year. 🏳️🌈 These are our EA PRIDE community voices. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gXgi9Jdb #EAPride #WeAreEA

Brighton Trans Pride and Brighton Pride are big events. Really big. It makes you think all is well and going in the right direction. It isn't. While political parties are currently making things worse, often aligning with anti-LGBT+ organisations, workplaces can do much better. It's simply about creating cultures of mutual respect and dignity, where "being yourself at work" is never a thing to fear or even doubt. "Over a third of respondents (and over a half of trans employees specifically) reported disguising their LGBTQ+ identity at work due to fear of discrimination, and 18% of LGB+, 26% of trans, and 37% of non-binary employees reported not being ‘out’ at work. Perhaps most concerningly, 12% of LGBTQ+ employees were encouraged by colleagues to hide their LGBTQ+ identity - this again, more than doubled for trans employees. "Three in five respondents agreed that their workplace had appropriate policies in place to protect LGBTQ+ employees, however fewer than half felt policies adequately protected trans employees. Further, 12% of LGB+ respondents shared that they wouldn’t feel comfortable reporting homophobic or biphobic bullying, rising to 20% for trans employees regarding transphobic bullying."
In support of Pride Day, Billy Campbell's blog reflects on the positive progress made towards improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace, and considers how LGBTQ+ employees can be better welcomed and supported in order to achieve full equality and inclusion. This month, we stand proud and united to commemorate Pride Month, a celebration of love, diversity, acceptance, and self-expression. This is not just a time to acknowledge the struggles and victories of the LGBTQ+ community but also to reflect on the importance of creating a more inclusive and empathetic society. As we celebrate Pride, let us also remember the importance of allyship. Being an ally means supporting and standing up for the rights of those who identify as LGBTQ+. It means creating safe spaces at work and in our communities where everyone can be their authentic selves. It requires constant learning, understanding, and committing to equality and justice. This Pride month—and all year round—let's strive to spread love, promote inclusivity, and uplift each other. Because when one of us succeeds, we all do. How are you celebrating Pride month and promoting inclusivity in your community? #PrideMonth #Inclusivity #Allyship

June is Pride Month. For the LGBTQ+ community, #PrideMonth promotes dignity, equal rights, and self-affirmation and is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues they face. As companies engage in DEI planning and initiatives, it is key that all groups are represented. The acronym LGBTQ+ has been extended to encompass a more diverse group, most recently shown as LGBTQIA2s+, indicating the continued focus on inclusion for all. As an employer, are you ensuring a welcoming, supportive, and safe workplace for all people? Do you recognize the unique talents of each individual, helping create an environment that enables employees to do their best? ➡️Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gxec7-iv
