Would you believe me if I told you we (everyone on earth) have been living a stolen life for the last 7 days? YES. It's true. 1/8/24 - Earth Overshoot Day 2024 marks the point when human demands for ecological resources exceed what the planet can regenerate in a year. From August 2nd until the end of the year, we will consume resources belonging to future generations. As Chetan Singh Solanki put it very well - "Meaning from today onwards we are going to steal resources from future generations. We are going to live a stolen life." The concept of Earth Overshoot Day highlights the unsustainable nature of current consumption patterns. As of now, humanity's ecological footprint is equivalent to that of more than 1.7 Earths, meaning we seriously need to rethink our ways! Let that sink in! #AbToJago #अब_तो_जागो #EnergySwaraj #worldovershootday2024 #sustainability

Every year, Earth Day is observed to commemorate the environmental movement's victories and to increase public awareness of the need of preserving Earth's natural resources for future generations 🌎 In the United States, April 22 is designated as Earth Day; in other countries, it is observed on the day of the spring equinox. Earth is the only planet known to support life. It offers liquid water, an oxygen-rich atmosphere, and protection from the Sun’s harmful radiation. By exploring the Cosmos, we learn more about Earth and how life evolved here.Asteroids occasionally impact Earth and cause widespread damage. With proper planning, we can prevent this natural disaster from happening. At Fair Tourism, we care deeply about the state of our planet as it is the Earth that supports all the wonderful natural resources that tourism destinations rely on. As we primarily work on projects supporting indigenous communities, we recognise the need for indigenous perspectives in order to save the planet, as traditional ways of preserving species and habitats are crucial. So, let’s promote traditional ecological knowledge systems and build relationships with indigenous people whose knowledge systems are key to designing a sustainable future! 🙌🏻 #fairtourism #indigenouspeople #indigenousknowledge #earthday

Today, we honour Earth, our remarkable home, by focusing on the vital role trees play in maintaining its health and our well-being. Imagine a world where trees line every street, treating us to air as fresh as a mountain breeze. While that vision may seem far off, given our urban landscapes often resemble concrete jungles more than lush paradises, it's a dream worth striving for. Every time we step outside, pollutants from exhaust fumes to pollen tarnish the air we breathe. It's a far cry from the pure, invigorating air we desire. Trees are often called the "lungs of the Earth" because they perform a crucial life-sustaining function: they breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen, just as our lungs do for our bodies. This not only balances our planet’s atmosphere but also opposes the climate changes provoked by excess greenhouse gases. Just as our lungs are vital for our health, forests are critical to the world’s ecosystem stability. Trees shelter diverse wildlife, stabilise climates, protect soils from erosion, and provide countless other benefits. This Earth Day, let's appreciate the stunning beauty of nature and the deep connections between our survival and the environment. By committing to protect and nurture our forests, we're not just preserving the beauty of nature but ensuring a healthier, more robust future for all life on Earth. Cheers to our forests, the true lungs of the Earth, and the life-sustaining breath they provide us. 🌳💚 #EarthDay #LungsOfTheEarth #REJUVENAIR
