As I continue to navigate this new journey in Canada, I know it is essential to learn and understand #canada 's history and to embrace the way of living. I've learned that the environment holds immense importance for First Nation tribes in Canada, and the issue of roads connecting communities is a critical aspect of their relationship with the environment. The environment, including the land, water, and wildlife, is deeply intertwined with the cultural and spiritual beliefs of First Nation tribes. Many Indigenous cultures in Canada have a profound connection to the natural world, considering it sacred and spiritually significant. First Nation tribes have a long history of environmental stewardship. They often have a deep knowledge of their local ecosystems and strive to protect them for future generations. The lands that First Nations inhabit often hold historical and ancestral importance, and therefore significant consideration is given to technologies used in and around their land. Roads and infrastructure development can lead to environmental degradation, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity, undermining environmental stewardship efforts. Therefore I'm very proud to be part of the Cypher Environmental Ltd team that took hands with Enbridge to deliver this 100% #environmentallyfriendly solution for Swan Lake First Nation. Roads connecting communities can be both a necessity for modern life and a source of concern if not developed and maintained in a way that respects Indigenous rights, traditions, and environmental sustainability. Balancing the needs for infrastructure development with the preservation of the environment and Indigenous culture is a complex and ongoing challenge in Canada and I am happy to play my part. https://lnkd.in/gmt2kvh7 #environmentallyfriendly #sustainability #canada
The Swan Lake First Nation celebrated the 25th anniversary of their annual Pow Wow last month. We were honoured to help the community prepare for the big event with a DUST/BLOKR® application earlier in the week! With the heavy traffic that was expected for the event, it was important for the planning committee to help control the amount of airborne dust in the air kicked up from traffic on the unpaved roads. Miigwetch to the Swan Lake First Nation, Enbridge and Subcan for the opportunity to participate and for making this project possible! Another Cypher Green Roads project completed. ADOT's 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) provides a blueprint and vision for the state's future transportation system over the next 25 years. Highlights: - Under current projections, 2050 transportation needs are estimated to be $231 billion. With current funding sources, there is an estimated $30.5 billion funding gap. - The 2040 plan focused 78% of funding for Greater Arizona (not including Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and Pima Association of Governments (PAG) areas) on preserving and maintaining the existing system and 22% on modernization and safety improvements. - On average, the Phoenix and Tucson regions are expected to receive $512 million annually. Of that, $223 million comes from voter-approved regional programs in those two metropolitan areas dedicated largely to highway expansion. entrepreneur-ing | solving EV "range drain" | battery tech | climate tech | ex-Big 4 | ex-PE | ex-D2D sales | latinX
Did you know.....that EVs are actually LESS likely to catch on fire compared to traditional (or ICE) vehicles? Despite the noise in the media, various surveys concluded that EVs represent FAR LESS of the overall vehicle fires reported. Per BILLION MILES driven, there were 55 ICE vehicle fires compared to just 5 EV fires. And EVs exhibited 61 TIMES FEWER fires per 100,000 sales than ICE vehicles. All of that is backed up but the City of Phoenix Assistant Fire Chief Tim Kreis. It was awesome to learn about how proactive and forward thinking Tim’s team and the City of Phoenix has been with these new trends. In fact, that hoverboard or scooter sitting in your garage is more likely to catch on fire than your neighbors EV 🔥🛴 Thank you Arizona Technology Council and the AEEE committee for another great event Deborah Zack | Victor Atlasman | Brett Dooley Thank you Legacy EV for hosting at your new facility Mavrick Knoles | Rob Ward Learn more about the future of #electrification #batterytech #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatetech at the next AZ CleanTech event June 3rd.
