Head of Tourism and Trade, GIZ Malawi

My masters in Social Innovation continues with the Cambridge Judge Business School. A few weeks ago, I spent another fulfilling and academically rich week with my 34 other cohort colleagues. This time we were tasked with coming up with a proposal for a social business in a week. The Friday morning session finished with Apprentice-style pitch, with much less drama and much more social impact!! Our group focused on the rising levels of anxiety and depression among students in the UK and designed an app to remove stigma, gamify mental health check-ins and create safe spaces for people to exchange. Dr Jim McAtear MSc MA MEd MPhil GDL PhD, Janek Saunders, Sephora Amlan Ochou, Alexander Hartmann - it was a pleasure! Other highlights included inspiring guest lectures from Leon C. Prieto, Ph.D., Ella Henry and Gordon Main, with topics ranging from cooperative businesses in Trinidad, Maori entrepreneurship in New Zealand and the activism that took place to overthrow the apartheid regime in South Africa. Huge thank you as ever to Neil Rennie Stott, Nicole Helwig, Paul Tracey, Soussan Shahriari, Heather Mackay, Joana Nascimento, Michelle Fava Darlington for organising another enriching week. Shout out to my MSt colleagues who have all become friends - inside and outside the classroom, I'm excited to follow you on your journeys.
