It was an incredible experience facilitating the Women’s Leadership Program along with some inspiring and fierce leaders from APAC - Suzanne Frazer Yukiko Takigami (Kawabata) Lorna Kelly! This program has created a very powerful platform for all budding leaders to share their personal experiences and strategies for growth. Looking forward to facilitate many more sessions like these and inspire young budding leaders! Special thanks to Geneviève Frydman, APP for creating a safe space (for all the ‘quiet ones’) in the Sydney session where I was a participant! It has been quite a journey ever since.

Over the last two days, I had the privilege of facilitating Amazon's Women's Leadership Program in Tokyo. Over twenty female leaders from across APAC attended the workshop, empowering women to be successful leaders at Amazon. The program addresses common workplace challenges and offers opportunities to practice networking and communication skills, essential for leadership. Witnessing the growth and development of these women fills me with joy as we empower them to be their authentic selves in the workforce. Each session inspires me, and the learning's from participants contribute to my ongoing journey of growth and leadership. Thank you to my fellow facilitators Yukiko Takigami (Kawabata) a powerhouse from Japan Elizabeth George a truly inspiring leader from India and Lorna Kelly an exciting leader from Australia who shared their experiences, stores and vulnerabilities to guide our participants in their learning. Thank you also to our Fireside Chat presenters Geneviève Frydman, APP and Michelle Theophilou (CPHR) who inspired all of us with their leadership journey, their challenges and how they overcame them to become the inspirational leaders they are today. Oh that first line, though!!! Never in my history of recruiting have I noticed this more. It's a shame too because I'm all about promoting from whithin and giving people chances. But we do a huge disservice to them and our organization if we do not train them to be leaders. If you train them, they gain confidence and get there. If you do not train them, they often are unable to navigate any real issues...then the blame game starts...and suddenly your organization is going to suffer because you've left the decisions in the hands of poorly trained people who lack confidence and tackle all the wrong issues (or even CREATE issues). Next thing you know, your company is starting to underperform... "issues" aren't getting fixed (because they were never issues...just a poorly trained leader's excuse), and the really GOOD people leave. Of course, if you realize this and are too lazy to fix it and your 'leaders' drive the company into the ground.... Recognizing and developing future leaders is one of the best and most important parts of being a manager. However it is often left off of performance reviews and training plans for leaders. Like all teaching, sometimes by teaching something, you actually get better at that something...
