Parents are the first teachers of their child or children. Whatever you teach them, they bring to school. Whatever you allow, they try it out with their teachers in school. If you allow your kids to speak rudely to you, they will also speak rudely to their teachers in school because they believe that if mom and dad are okay with it, then it's a good thing. Did you know that teachers in school are like parents to your children. The teacher does not only teach but grooms, in order to raise responsible individuals. They teach, advice and correct in love. They spend more time with the kids. Although, no teacher can take the place of a parent but they take same responsibility, apart from bathing, cooking, and dressing the child. True teachers deserve accolades. In most cases some children come to school with wrong behaviours but the teachers work hard through discipline to correct those wrong behaviours to return responsible individuals. It is the catalyst to enable more open speech and as such is a key tool for building connection and trust in your school. Listen to a Headteacher explain and reflect upon how the Schoolgenie programme helped her school with building trust in conversations with the school staff. It acknowledges in a grown-up way that of course there are difficulties and issues and that they should be aired; this is the place to do it. “We are listening, we are supportive, we are ready to learn”.
