Had great fun completing and defending the first module of my TFM, which focuses on analysing the impact of private capital on football clubs. ⚽ 🔍 In this initial module "Analysis of Play", we delved into the exploring how the arrival of private capital influences on-pitch performance for football teams in the top 4 leagues. 🏆 Unfortunately, Bundesliga wasn't included due to the 50+1 rule, ensuring no private-capital owned entities. 📊 Key Findings: 1. Initial Decline, Long-Term Growth: Most clubs experienced a temporary dip in performance post-acquisition, followed by substantial long-term improvements, affirming a consistent trend.    2. Divergent Short-Term Trajectories: Non-privately owned clubs showcased superior short-term performance, while private-capital invested clubs underwent a phase of restructuring and planning, setting the stage for sustained growth. 3. Strategic Focus of Private Capital: The data supports the hypothesis that private-capital-backed clubs prioritize long-term value creation. The observed short-term decline aligns with strategic planning for future success.
