I'm excited to share that I will be starting law school at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in August 2024.
As an Ignatian Law Scholar, I received a full-tuition scholarship.
Looking forward to this new chapter!
Congratulations!!!!!!
I have watched you grow, flourish into a confident, brilliant young woman. Your unwavering commitment to knowledge, justice, and fairness has always been evident, and it fills my heart with admiration and pride.
Law school will undoubtedly test your limits, both intellectually and emotionally. There will be long nights of studying, rigorous debates, and demanding deadlines. Remember that challenges are the stepping stones to growth, and every obstacle you encounter will shape you into a stronger, more compassionate advocate for justice.

I am attending the Young Arbitrator's Career Day!
I am even more excited for my future career in Dispute Resolution. I am very determined to become a fully fledged dispute resolver including, inter alia, as Lawyer, Negotiator, Mediator, Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Conflict Resolver, Peace Maker and possibly Judicial Officer or Judge later in life, of course subject to changes in trajectory.
Of course I am an academic first and foremost.
After graduating from Ferrum College, Daeshawn Barrett ‘22 began his journey in law school at the Appalachian School Of Law (ASL) through the institution’s 3+3 program. This program is an agreement between Ferrum and ASL in Grundy, VA, guaranteeing students who earn their Bachelor’s Degree from the College in three years will be accepted into ASL to earn their Juris Doctor in an additional three years. Barrett took advantage of this opportunity. While at Ferrum, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with minors in Political Science, Business Administration, and History.

Hey everybody,
Am quite excited to present it before you'll that I have attended my 1st International conference conducted by Vignan institute of law, Vignan University on Care and Protection of children: Issues and challenges. My co-author, Lasya and I have presented the paper titled 'Nurturing resilience: Evaluating the synergy between legal and psychological experts in delivering inclusive legal aid for children'. Through our research, we understood the importance of having Legal and psychological experts in every aspect of dealing with child related crimes, in order to make children, comfortable and gain resilience. Lack of proper provisions that provide for synergy between these people, is a cause for ineffective legal aid services for children.
This is just the beginning and I am looking forward to take part in many more conferences, further!

An article about Yale Law School's Launchpad Scholars program powered by Latham & Watkins with profiles of inspiring veterans Desaree Edwards (Navy) and Getulio Gonzalez-Mulattieri (Air Force).
"At its core, this collaborative effort has an altruistic mission: to provide underrepresented students from across the country unprecedented access to support, resources, and guidance regarding law school admissions.”
"The 25 Launchpad Scholars come from nine states and Washington, D.C. and bring a variety of backgrounds and experiences to the program. Eighty percent of the class are students without a parent who graduated from a four-year, U.S. institution. Forty percent grew up in families where English was not the primary language spoken at home.
The cohort includes three veterans and several students with STEM backgrounds, including one student pursuing a Ph.D. in computer science. Some students attended community college before transferring to four-year institutions, and two are former foster youth."
Applications for the second cohort will open in Spring 2024.
