21 March celebrates International Down syndrome day. The date 21/3 represents there are 3 copies of chromosome number 21. Another term for Down syndrome is T21 - Trisomy 21. People with down syndrome lead full and active successful lives, just like people who dont have down syndrome. They can fall in love, get married and hold down full time jobs. Many can live independent lives with just a bit of extra support. My beautiful daughter Amelia is now 8yrs. She has Down syndrome and has been working as a professional model for several major brands for a number of years including Kmart & Target. She brightens the space of everywhere she goes Although her extra chromosome seems to contain a triple dose of mischief it is my mission to make her life as happy, healthy, rewarding and fullfilling as possible. Lets all celebrate the wonderful gift that children and people with down syndrome are to the world.
