They spoke to 1,026 people who divide their working week between home and the office. Unsurprisingly organisations with flexible remote or hybrid policies are hiring at double the rate of fully in-office ones. Who here works hybirdly? Flexible work is having an impact on employee well-being, according to recent Gallup data. Happy #FlexFriday! We collaborated with Scoop Flex Index to investigate whether there is a correlation between flexible work and better business performance – and the results are pretty interesting! As CEOs concerned with productivity push for a return to office, employees are questioning whether in-person mandates really do improve performance. We found that public companies who allowed their employees “full flexibility” in their work model – meaning complete choice over where they work – grew at 4x the pace of companies with in-office mandates, which included any requirements for employees to work specific days or minimum amounts of time in-office. When we double-clicked on that group of companies with in-office requirements, we found that not all policies are made the same. Flexibility matters. Companies that have a structured hybrid work model – i.e., allowing their employees to work remotely some days, and in the office for others - grow 2x faster than those who required their employees to work in-office 100% of the time. Talk about the benefits of flexibility! What is it about these flexible work models that leads to better performance? Could it be a more effective attraction + retention of top talent?
