The next generation of Impact Makers will be competing for the Enactus National Competition in several countries in the upcoming few weeks. 🚀 As an Impact Company, Schneider Electric, and the Schneider Electric Foundation, have a longstanding partnership with Enactus, an international NGO dedicated to inspiring students to drive positive change through entrepreneurial action within local communities and around the world. Schneider Electric oversees the implementation of the Enactus Core Program in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Mexico, Guatemala, and Egypt. This program will be opened soon for more countries, with plans to expand to more countries soon. This partnership is set to expand to additional countries soon. 🙌 Aligned with our Sustainability Impact, particularly #SSI11 to train 1 million young people by 2025, this partnership aims to empower over 108 000 young people to engage in their communities, foster innovation, and equip them with the necessary skills to excel and shape a just energy transition to excel and partake in the energy transition. The energy sector is rapidly evolving, with an anticipated 139 million job openings by 2030. Creating a growing demand for skilled professionals. As part of Enactus’s global mission to prepare young people to make a positive impact, our Youth Education and Entrepreneurship program, specifically the New Skills for the Future and Innovation initiative, is actively supporting this effort.⚡ Every year Enactus hosts an “Enactus World Cup” where teams showcase their entrepreneurial projects, exchange best practices, and network with business leaders and social influencers. 📅This year, Schneider Electric is involved in supporting the Enactus National Competition in 5 countries during the month of July: South Africa – 9 July Brazil - 18 July Nigeria – 23 July Kenya - 25 – 26 July Egypt - 29 – 30 July The winning teams from each country will converge at the Enactus World Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan, on October 2nd. During this World Cup, students from 33 countries will showcase their impactful projects as they compete for the title of ‘Enactus World Champion’. 🏆 This collaboration embodies our commitment to fostering innovation and equipping the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in the energy sector and beyond. The journey that started in January is finally over, of course, with a cycle to commence soon. However, it was no easy one, with over 19 teams putting in for the Action with Africa Challenge. The Action with Africa Challenge is a program led by Enactus Germany. The Challenge promotes #entrepreneurial #leadership and #innovative #business #ideas on the continent of #Africa and aims at creating #positive #SDG #impact, in view of #job #creation and #women #empowerment by enabling high-potential #Enactus students teams across the world to scale their business ideas. In Enactus Nigeria, over 30 innovative ideas were applied to the challenge by over 15 teams; however, being a highly competitive challenge, only four innovative solutions from four teams in Enactus Nigeria won grant funding of a cumulative sum of 13,000 euros. Ranking 9th out of 12 innovations is the project Ecorubber from the Enactus team from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State with 1,500 euros Ranking 7th out of 12 innovations is the project DWEP from the Enactus team from Federal University of Technology Akure with 1,500 euros Ranking 5th out of 12 innovations is the project ColdBike from the Enactus team from University of Agriculture, Makurdi (Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi) with 5,000 euros Ranking 4th out of 12 innovations is the project P2P (PUPIndustries, product) from the Enactus team from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with 5,000 euros A huge thank you to Enactus Germany and its partners, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Wilo-Foundation and BASF for creating a call to action to create impactful and sustainable change on the continent of Africa and further enabling the cause through the impact investment funds.
