Office of Infrastructure, U.S. Department of Energy’s Post

Yesterday, Office of Infrastructure, U.S. Department of Energy's Under Secretary Crane joined leadership from Cummins and the Mayor of Columbus, Indiana, to announce $150 million – in combined public and private investment – for the company's Columbus Engine Plant. Part of a $1.7 billion, eight-state investment in the future of American auto manufacturing, Cummins will convert their Columbus facility to manufacture zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems. The Under Secretary underscored that this funding, made possible by President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and administered by DOE Manufacturing & Energy Supply Chains Office (MESC), is supporting American communities and the union workers who have driven the auto industry for generations – including the Diesel Workers Union and Office Committee Union at Cummins. Expected to add approximately 250 new, high-quality jobs in addition to retaining existing positions, this project highlights what Investing in America is all about. 📰: https://lnkd.in/gfZjiPdU
