Energy Advisors Group has released a Special Supplement ReFrac Report focused on horizontal wells in the Haynesville/Bossier formations as an addition to our Original Hayesville Report issued April 12, 2024. This Report evaluates the performance of every Haynesville/Bossier ReFrac/Recompletion (199 wells or just 3% of Haynesville/Bossier horizontal wells drilled). It concludes that ReFracs are coming in at 90% of original completion rates and 75% are estimated to have payback in <12 months. Off the Beaten Path Following up on our post from Tuesday, Reese Energy Consulting today is following news from producers who are finding oil and gas magic on the fringes of core-basin plays. In an article earlier this month, Hart Energy featured Denver-based Bayswater Exploration and Production, which aside from its assets in the DJ and Powder River, also operates 48,000 acres in the Permian’s Northern Midland. Here, targeting the Wolfcamp and Spraberry, Bayswater is striking paydirt the farther east it explores. Call it extending the extensions. With a strategy to develop tier-2 acreage positions that could ultimately deliver tier-1 performance, the company first went to work in Howard County, Texas, near Mitchell County, where high levels of carbonates comprised of limestone and dolomite have tended to discourage drilling. Not so for Bayswater, which discovered a rich hydrocarbon environment in the carbonate/shale reservoir, completing its first well in 2021 with initial production of nearly 1.3 MBPD and cumulative production of 430+ Mbbls. Now three years later, Bayswater has moved farther east into Mitchell County, reporting even higher production and drilling six more 2.5-mile laterals with completions slated this summer. Speaking of step outs, gas producers Comstock Resources and Aethon Energy continue their “victory is mine” exploration and development of the Western Haynesville—an extension now aptly christened Waynesville. Aethon, whose newest well in Robertson County, Texas, produced nearly 3.3 BCF in the first four months of production last fall, can’t get enough of Wayne’s world and is now on the hunt for more. 88 Energy Ltd (AIM:88E, ASX:88E, OTC:EEENF) updated investors on its flow testing results from the Hickory-1 well, in Alaska. The vertical well, drilled in February 2023, was tested in its two primary target reservoirs, the Upper SFS (USFS) and SMD-B. The Upper SFS reservoir showed a peak flow rate of around 70 barrels of oil per day (bopd) with a maximum oil cut of 15%, while the SMD-B reservoir had a peak flow rate of around 50 bopd with a maximum oil cut of 10%. Notably, the USFS zone was able to flow naturally to the surface without the aid of nitrogen lift, a notable result given that adjacent wells have required such assistance. Kennibar Resources Ltd. (“Kennibar”) has retained Trimble Energy Group (“TEG”) as its exclusive financial advisor to assist with the marketing of its Fee Title Land and Royalty Interests in Alberta and Saskatchewan (the “Properties”). DIVESTITURE OVERVIEW ·        In Alberta, Kennibar holds fee title interests in an aggregate of 4,389 acres (~ 6.85 sections) and receives lessor royalty revenue of approximately $2,300 per year from the Herronton/Arrowwood area. Additional revenue from the area is expected to recommence in May 2024. ·        There is potential for additional revenue from the Alberta properties in the Duvernay and Sparky Formations due to offsetting production and potential for pooling of land. There are a number of producing formations that are proximal to Kennibar’s unleased fee title. ·        In Saskatchewan, Kennibar holds fee title interests and various GORR interests in an aggregate of 2,120 acres (~3.3 sections). We have a couple points that might pop up this coming Monday in the next deal Alannah Gonzalez and I are drilling. Our plan is to spud the well at the end of next week or during the first week of March. This deal is a160-acre lease located in Nueces County, Texas. This lease is adjacent to another lease we currently hold under production since 2012. Notably, the wells on the HPB tract initially produced 107 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and are presently yielding 30 BOPD with no water intrusion and no apparent decline. The region’s wells typically yield about 100 to 200 barrels of oil per day and have a successful track record across more than 12 productive zones. The potential of this prospect is significant, with projections of approximately 4.9 million barrels of oil and 0.8 BCF of gas. North Dakota has hit a new milestone with over 19,000 producing wells. Assistant Director of the Department of Mineral Resources, Mark Bohrer, shared that the state reached a record-breaking 19,079 wells in May. While oil production dipped slightly by 3.9% due to May's road restrictions, gas production increased by 5%, showing positive momentum. The rig count is holding steady at 37. Looking ahead, 20 wells are awaiting completion, which will likely push production numbers even higher. Despite some fluctuations, North Dakota's energy sector remains strong, producing 1.9 million barrels of oil per day. North Dakota’s energy landscape continues to evolve and impress.
