Google and ENGIE Expand Partnership with New Power Purchase Agreements in Belgium ENGIE has inked five corporate power purchase agreements (cPPAs) to support the operations and the expansion of Google in Belgium. To achieve net-zero emissions and 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030, Google will receive the entire output from four new onshore wind farms developed by ENGIE in Belgium, totaling 26 MW. Additionally, Google and ENGIE have extended the existing 92 MW corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) from another Belgian wind park for an additional eight years. ENGIE and iliad signed new Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) for 34.5GWh per year over 15 years. ENGIE, the iliad Group's long-standing energy supplier, will supply renewable energy from the solar farm installed at Sainte-Gemme in Charente-Maritime. Thanks to this partnership, 8,000 tonnes of CO2 will be avoided per year. This PPA follows the signature in January 2023 of a 1st renewable energy purchase agreement with ENGIE for a solar farm in the Landes (France). ENGIE Belgium and Google have joined forces again! Google and ENGIE have signed a series of new Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs), under which ENGIE will provide over 118 MW of renewable power to Google’s digital infrastructure in Belgium. This partnership supports Google's goal of achieving net-zero emissions and 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030. ENGIE will supply Google with energy from four new onshore wind farms (26 MW total) and extend the existing offtake from a 92 MW wind park for another 8 years, totaling around 3.7 TWh of carbon-free energy. The company now boasts a portfolio of more than 500 solar and wind projects globally, expected to generate over 77,000 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually—enough to power 7.2 million U.S. homes. The company aims to achieve 100% renewable energy for its operations by 2025 and has already contributed over $12 billion in estimated economic investment and supported 39,000 jobs globally through its solar and wind farms. Google announced a series of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in Europe with over 700 MW of clean energy, with the goal of reaching over 90% carbon-free energy in countries such as the Netherlands, Italy, and Poland, and close to 85% in Belgium within the next two years. This initiative is part of Google's ambition to power all its operations with 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030. With Google's recent publication of their sustainability report, a lot of attention is being paid to their electricity consumption and total footprint. Let's be clear: the exponential growth of #AI is a big driver for the world largest companies. but this is a challenge that Google are facing head on. For my part, I'm proud that ENGIE continues to lead the world in corporate PPA development and see the tech giants setting an example the rest of world will soon need to follow. #RenewableEnergy 24/7 is a huge challenge but it's one that we need to deliver on as we move to #globalnetzero
