I have had the tremendous fortune of growing up with family members that double as best friends, mentors, and teammates. They are hard working, honest, loyal and FUN! This weekend we were all together celebrating a truly exemplary teammate, our Dad. Oftentimes people look for teammates that only tell them niceties, that create echo-chambers of what they want to hear and/or believe. I'd encourage you to look out for this and then steer clear of those environments. It's not beneficial long term. Find people with enough conviction to tell you what they think, and are able to do it with respect and compassion. Find people who want you to be better than who you think you can be, and will stop at no length to help you become that person. Find people like my dad, who will show you how to lead by setting examples of sacrifice and commitment. Where did that confident, courageous, ambitious super hero inside you go? You started your career with full passion and optimism. You had specific goals to reach at specific age. Maybe you were super ambitious and had goal of VP by 40! Where did that super hero go who knows you have much bigger potential that being an individual contributor? Are you missing that super hero in you? If yes...you are lucky. Lucky to have that super hero inside you. You know... it's still there. Maybe taking a nap...a long nap. Let's make up the hero. Because once that happens...you know how amazing the life become. Just imagine...life with director/VP title and 200 to 300k income. If your super hero is telling you, it's possible for you too... Let's work on proven process to reach high levels and income.

Understandably, not everyone is comfortable first off with being their authentic self so we need to learn how to be and to trust it will be received with good intention? So let's take a step together! Start by telling your story to a close colleague, including all the highs and the lows. How did they react? How did it make you feel? Tell the same story to another colleague, and let it snowball from there. Soon your story will be known by many, and you will feel more comfortable with being authentic. While I was in high school, Coach Lanny Landtroop and Coach Russell Duin would show us a teamwork VHS tape about a fish market at the start of every season. The whole premise was if you can make selling fish fun, anything can be fun. So much of what they taught us has stayed with me, but especially the choose your attitude everyday. Even on the cruddy days, I realize I can choose how to react to it. If I’m sitting in traffic, I can sit and be mad or choose to accept it and listen to a song or book. It’s not ignoring feelings, just not letting a spilled cup of coffee in the morning dictate how my entire day is. 20 year later, I was finally able to make it to the market in Seattle and saw the flying fish! So happy to have this experience come full circle and grateful to have such great coaches when I was younger. It was just as awesome as I thought it would be! Thanks Pike Place Fish Market for the life lesson that has stayed with me for the past 24 years. Choose your attitude: A positive attitude can help you deal with challenges and be more motivated to come to work. Play: Having fun at work can improve morale and job satisfaction. Make their day: Find ways to meaningfully serve or delight others. Be there: Being present can help you foster meaningful connections.

I never used to be someone who would post on LinkedIn.   I've wanted to, but the I've always worried I'd look like one of the prophets lining the street in Monty Python's The Life of Brian - shouting my "wisdom" in the hopes someone would listen - https://lnkd.in/ga82kyiy   So why start now?   I calculated that of the Australia-based Delivery Managers who joined WiseTech after I did, I have personally interviewed or referred 87%.   I am super proud of the fact that I have helped to build a team of people who are so supportive, collaborative and friendly, not to mention intelligent and competent and an all-round great group of people. I honestly don't think I can name a single "unfortunate hire" among us… ...and we're still growing.   Somewhere out there are talented, intelligent and conscientious professionals for whom joining WiseTech as a Delivery Manager or Delivery Specialist will be a genuine win-win for all involved.   I want to use LinkedIn to expand my reach, to capture the attention of brilliant people.   If you're one of those brilliant people, then just maybe I can convince you that Delivery Management at WiseTech is worthy of consideration. So I'll sing the (earned) praises of our team, I'll highlight some of the interesting and engaging work we are doing or perhaps I'll just start a conversation. All going well, I might even establish myself as someone you are interested in working with.   So that is the shamelessly selfish reason you may see a bit more from me in future.

I Celebrate Your Success Like It's Mine (And You Should Too!) A close friend shared her fantastic news with me—she received a much-deserved job offer. In that moment, amidst the hustle of our fast-paced business world, where personal achievements often overshadow collective joy, we shared a genuine celebration. I hugged her and expressed how thrilled I was, whispering a hopeful prayer that soon, I might share similar news. Guess what? Just a week later, I received my own job offer. It was surprising, yet it felt like the universe conspiring in our favor. This experience taught me that success truly isn't a solo journey but a shared adventure. Lesson learnt: 🚀 **Celebration over Competition** Be genuinely happy for others and don't hate them. It's not about 'me,' but 'us.' It's about pushing forward together, not pulling each other down. Celebrating other's successes instead of hate. 🤝 **Trust the Process** Each of us is on a unique journey. Comparing your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20? It serves no purpose. Instead, trust your own process and know that your time will come. 📈 **Win Together, Lose Together** In a truly collaborative environment, we all win together. And yes, sometimes we lose together too. Don’t pull others down to reach the top; extend a hand and climb together. Together, we can transform our environments into hubs of positivity and productivity. Here’s to more shared successes and the unstoppable power of genuine joy!

It's often funny to look back on a week of "leading" a team and scaling a business and wonder if people really know what they are chasing and why... To be clear I would not trade it for anything but sometimes the "sizzle" reel on here and other platforms is a bit misleading 😎 1. Moved 8 yards of mulch in 90+ temps for a community project with my team 2. Had 3 no shows for interviews (I also had double that actually show up) 3. Drive back and forth to our offices 3 times (12 hours on the road) 4. Took some losses on projects we thought we were winning 5. Ride-a-long in the field with our teammates to shadow our process I wrapped the week with a sense of accomplishment and comfort knowing I have work waiting for me tomorrow and next week but again I would not trade it for anything. Just be careful to buy into all the hype about "what it looks like" to build something with your team and battle every day.
