One of my skills which others here might find of value is best described as fine art darkroom printing without a darkroom. Some years ago, as soon as mirrorless full frame cameras gained the resolution to enable it, I switched from high-res scanning to copying 35mm and other originals using the same gear we made top quality audiovisual slides duplicates on 40-50 years ago. Black and white negatives which would look hopelessly grainy and scratched on a scanner can 'print' as well as they might on an optical enlarger. I retouch down to grain level - the film grain is critically sharp - and use contrast curve control with dodging and burning-in just as I once did when hand printing. It can take an hour to tackle all the imperfections in a negative over half century old stored in the non-archival materials sold for the purpose at the time. This one came to light having never been printed at the time - my late wife Shirley photographing Dinnington Colliery from a spoil-heap vantage point in September 1972. The 61MP file prints up to 1 to 1.5m wide (300-200dpi).
