Good. 👏🏽 College isn’t for everyone. And it’s not a good use of money and time for everyone. While I appreciate how much my college experience and studies helped me be a good cop applicant, it was more about my relationships, extra curriculars, time management, communication, and work in tandem that helped me mature as a young adult. We see all kinds of fantastic cops through generations that come from military, corrections, EMS, caretaking, social work, trades work, service industry you name it. This is a perfect example of widening the net rather than lowering the bar for police hiring. #policenews #policehiring #howtobeacop #adapting

I’m on the fence, as I can see/relate to both sides/arguments. I didn’t get my degree, until serving nearly 15 years in LE. Hence, I get both perspectives. On the flip side of this argument - check out what this University out east is doing, talk about forward thinking (in my opinion). 👍🏼👍🏼 https://www.fitchburgstate.edu/academics/programs/police-program-41-concentration-criminal-justice-bs

The School of Hard Knocks has worked for so many cops. I can see the requirement for young people to get them more socially experienced, but veterans and seasoned people looking to change careers are probably pretty wise.
