One of the ways you can stand out in your current job is to go out of the way to seek new knowledge. Ask your team leaders about company learning resources. A lot of times big companies have online training that can help you learn more skills and provide more value at work. A lot of us will be interning at new companies this summer and will feel like we can’t contribute anything because we’re new. Make sure to ask your supervisor for training resources. Also go out of your way to observe other coworkers and see how they get stuff done. One the best ways I became productive at my current job was just to become friends with the guys that had been there for years. I asked a bunch of questions and just observed how their patterns and how they worked. It made me infinitely better. Keep this in mind as you start your new career.

**Do you still remember your first job experience?** 👩🏫 👨🏫 Twelve years back, I began the first full-time job at my favorite TV station, TRANS TV. Fresh out of an internship at Nestlé and armed with a master’s degree from the Université Lumière Lyon 2, I faced a crossroads with two job offers: one to continue at Nestlé and the other at the TV station. The decision was tough, but my passion for broadcasting and my childhood dreams led me to the media industry. I still get goosebumps thinking about those early days, meeting national Indonesian celebrities every single day at the office. The thrill of watching my favorite programs live on set was indescribable. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The fast-paced environment and high expectations were daunting at times. Things changed not every day, but every couple of hours. Calls and pressures became my usual snack times. I still remember the day I got myself in big trouble due to my honest yet data-driven reviews. The Executive Producer of the program I managed came to me, banging my desk angrily. These challenges and the incident taught me the importance of diplomacy and tact in professional communication. No easy but the feeling once you fixed it, is priceless. Another valuable lesson I learned from my first job was the importance of working with passion. Hard work might be ok in the short term, but will it be sustainable? Greetings, its been a week since started my internship at VAL Media under productnations.co; I’ve learned core things related to content writing. But things that I would highlights were time management is crucial in particular priority article. Article modifications gave quite a challenge; especially in the research phase cause not all products you’re familiar with and might’ve get lost without the help of my supervisors and seniors. All in all met new work colleagues; along the way made some friends too. How I landed my dream internship at Publicis with 0 connections, which later landed me a job in marketing at Nestlé. 🤷🏻♀️ I cold messaged a few managers at Publicis 🤷🏻♀️ If the manager was willing to have a conversation: 1️⃣ I showed I thoroughly researched the website 2️⃣ I clearly knew what I wanted to do in the company 3️⃣ I was able to pitch ideas and provide examples of how I’ll help that manager as their intern Once I had Publicis on my LinkedIn profile - a recruiter from Nestlé reached out asking if I’d want to be an intern there. My first job was at an amusement park. And it gave me more than my first paycheck, it taught me one of the best lessons. Yesterday’s post about asking my team about their first job inspired me to share my story. My first job was taking pictures of guests at an amusement park - a water amusement park to be specific. Yeah 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 person you run into right after you walk into the park. Some people would brush me off. Some would begrudgingly say yes. Some would be excited to say cheese. It wasn’t until I saw a family pick up their picture that I realized the importance of my job. My job was not to take a picture. It was to capture a memory. And that would have never happened, if I didn’t ask them to stop and take a picture. Changing the "why", made it easier to deal with the "how". It taught me that my mindset dictates how “fun” or “not fun” something is. Once I understood the "why", my approach changed. I matched the guests' energy. I made sure I was excited like they were. I wanted to capture a memory. Not only did the pictures turn out better, but it helped make a summer job a little more enjoyable.
